The Chillout Thread

Maybe certain tracks will crossover but what tracks truly chill you out? Just post them with or without official videos (my first choice was never a single).

Critique is not even important here. Just a track or two that takes you away from this godforsaken world of ours.

First entry. Jose Padilla-"Blues For Ibiza" from the album 'Souvenir '. Sublime Balearic chill with some great original guitar work:

Aye. Pruit Igoe is my favourite by Glass. Was a bit gutted it is now on the GTA 4 soundtrack, though at least younger people will hear it.....yeah right, like they will have The Journey on their radio.

as one of the people

i have benefitted from ALL of your posts ive read

and regardless of whether it gives you any personal gratification

i thank i you for your time and effort

I find that famous song from the soundtrack to the mission really relaxing...

other than that norah jones...

and a band called the waiting room... look 'em up

Once I put the album on I always end up leaving it all on.

Perfect to listen to in bed and drift off to.

Not really that keen on the movie but the score is brilliant.

Just something a bit different, that's chillout, yet very creepy -

Bohren & der Club of Gore. Funeral/Doomy Jazz.(WARNING: Shouldn't be in a very attentive mood while listening to this...Midnight/Loneliness recommended)
Well, guess what? Zorabies are rising from the graves and there's literally no life on earth. Yet, the air around is very calm and quiet.
Would suit an horror movie where there's no voice involved.(where pictures do all the talking)

YouTube - bohren & der club of gore - constant fear
YouTube - Bohren & der Club of Gore - Midnight Black Earth
YouTube - Bohren & der Club of Gore - Prowler
YouTube - Bohren & der Club of Gore - On Demon Wings (The Big Sleep)
YouTube - Bohren & der Club of Gore-Crimson Ways

PS: Nice thread...loving all the stuff so far :D

Kruder & Dorfmeister's remix of Larab's Transfatty Acid (check out that change of pace around 4:20) both the Original track and the remix album from K & D are stellar:

Absolutely awesome. I want it :D

The movie has been a favourite of mine for years TBH. Have you ever heard Tangerine Dream?

This track is from the 'Risky Business' ST starring Tom Cruise way back. It is actually an extension on a theme from the film 'Thief' which is an early Michael Mann film (Heat, Manhunter, Ali etc).
