The Cave

Went to see this today expecting a tension-fuelled, horror story full of twists and turns with an action-packed story and nailbiting set pieces.

What a pile of poo it turned out to be!

was the acting bad? or just the script? or was it everything?

Cole Hauser has only done rubbish since Pitch Black (example: 2 Fast 2 Furious!!), a shame as he was very effective in PB I thought.

I quite enjoyed The Cave! As Alien/PB rip oRAB, it's a silly, shlocky movie. And, okay, the characters were one-dimensional - the "bad boy", the "frosty English scientist", the "leader", the "requisite black dude" and so on. But I liked the twist with Cole Hauser's character (and thanks - I couldn't figure out while watching it last night where I'd seen him before! - PB). But it was entertaining fluff - better than PB2 anyway!

I went to see The Cave last night and didnt think it was that bad. It was really slow at the start with all the diving and techincal stuff as it was boring me!
They didnt show enough of the monsters and you didnt know what was going on half the time. Also it wasnt gory enough but then again it was a 12A!
I didnt find it scary at all either but I didnt find The Decent scary as well!

The reason why I said it wasnt that bad was because I went in expecting a film as bad as Gothika, Hide And Seek, Jeepers Creepers etc as those are what I consider truly awful films!
What I found from The Cave was just a very average mindless film that could have done with a bit more gore and a bit better acting!
I enjoyed The Descent more than I enjoyed The Cave but I thought both were very average films!

I was considering "The Cave", but then i saw that it was only a 12A so i couldnt be bothered with it. "The Descent" however is a complety different story. Ill go as far and say it was the best film ive see all year. Loved the way claustraphobic and grieving blonde desended to the primative psycho!
