The "Carry On" thread

Used to dislike these movies when I was younger but my tastes have changed with age. However I won't watch any of these movies on UK Gold because they show them at all times of the day and I can imagine some of the later ones being cut to shreRAB to allow them to broadcast them at the times they do.

Very little, as it happens. I still appreciate wit such as the QI banter, and the odd genuine clip on You've been framed but I'm struggling to find any of the present so called comedy shows either funny or intelligent. I usually find the odd laugh in a Bill Bailey show. Same for Billy Connelly and Eddie Izzard. But I can't find a single thing to laugh at from the likes of say Ricky Gervais or Russell Brand. Have I Got News For You is a perfect example of a supposedly humourous show that's long outlived it's moment.

All things pass, and I find it not a good idea to flog on with something past its sell by date. And it's often sad going back to something you liked in your youth hoping it will still be funny, only to find it doesn't make you laugh at all anymore.

Carry on Spying was in BBC2 today, one of my favourites.

The first 12 have been released on Special Edition DVRAB, to accompany the last 18 which already got the SE treatment.

Apart from Spying, I'd say Abroad and Camping are my favourites too.

That explains a lot
If you don't revisit it then you'll never know but if your attitude is that once night follows day the comedy loses whatever it had then nothing will ever be funny.

You sound like a great guy to spend a night down the pub with.

A lot of people disliked Carry on Columbus and felt that having Julian Clairy and Rik Mayall as cast members was an insult to the original cast that had passed away

I thought the film was average at best, nothing special but nothing poor
