i liked this movie a lot, i d heard some good things about it, and i must say i was completely satisfied after watching it.
My opinion concerning Ashton Kutcher's acting has just taken a different road ;)

JellyBellyBean-- Can you describe the deleted endings? Like what did Evan say when he stopped to talk to her? :D

This movie blew my mind. As soon as I got out of the theatre, I started thinking about my life in a different perspective. How every little choice can change your future. Really makes you think.

I wasn't expecting Ashton to be that good in a serious role, but he really pulled it off. Amy Smart and Ethan Supple were also very good.

i have one, from when theyre younger..the part with the mailbox...

You're not alone. I want to see the movie based solely on the plot line. I saw the trailer went I went to see Return of the King and I'm really looking forward to seeing it. It's definately the type of movie I go for and maybe with this role, I'll actually start to like Ashton.

yea the dog:cry: at that second, i ran and grabbed my dog and said "awww pheobe, i'll never leave you" i wouldnt let go:lol:

I just watched "The Butterfly Effect" Director's Cut. Very interesting, not sure which version I like better. Either way, I love the movie...tt's one of a few "thinking" movies that I actually LIKE.

My only question is when the teacher shows his mom the drawing, where he is standing with a knife over two dead guys...well it just dawned on me that those were the two guys from the jail! The thing is...him being in jail happened AFTER the drawing, so how could he have possibly thought to draw something like that? Was it a...future memory? Or did it already happen in an "alternate universe"? That part has me LOST!

actually...he called him a ****wad.

I think that they were implying that the father went nuts the same way the son was starting to.

he had the same kind of ability to change reality, or something like that....at least, that's what I was thinking when I saw that.

Right, thats true. It was just hard for me to picture him nice after seeing how he acted around everyone with beating the dog to death, almost killing a mother and her baby, and Evan himself.

No offense... But I am GLAD the film makers are taking a chance and making a more "adult" film and aren't watering it down for the teen market.

On the other hand, that is exactly who Ashton's fanbase is comprised of, so that doesn't make too much sense either. Granted, he does have fans over 18... But I too thought this movie would be a strong PG-13 to get more teens (under 18) in.

The rating probably has to do with subject matter, violence and adult themes and drug abuse judging by the previews and not so much sex, or nudity.

Isn't the MPAA's double standard on sex and violence in our (The U.S.) puritanical culture absurd?

i work at blockbuster and i am always making people get out this movie

i think its remarkable and i think ashton k really made the part
it was good to see him in a more serious role

I thought the ending was really well done. It was bittersweet and yet, it fits with the story. If he ran after her and started things up again, this movie would have been ruined and would be in my list of "Good Movies with Cheesy Endings". No offense to anyone who thinks that would have been a better ending. It's just that if the writers would like Evan to be with Kayleigh in the end, it would be better if they write a totally different ending to wrap it up instead of having him run after her after sacrificing getting to know her since childhood.

when i first heard about the movie i wasn't too impressed but i saw the trailer and i think it looks really freaking cool.

That's the intro:

"It has been said that something as small as the flutter of a butterfly's wing can ultimately cause a typhoon halfway around the world."

-Chaos Theory

i'm kinda late, but i loved the movie, and Ashton was really good. :)

i thought it was good and the ending was annoying yet good...i mean the whole them getting together would wreck the whole integrity part of it but still...

I saw the previews for this movie when I went to watch LOTR the other day. I'm not an Ashton fan... heck the only thing I actually watch him in is Punk'd, but this movie looks really interesting. I'll probably watch it when it comes out. I love the whole travelling through time bit, those kind of movies always interest me.

Juliette_K thanks for the theatrical version summary. It sounds really good. It's like two different movies. Can't wait to see it.

I enjoyed this movie a lot. I found it a bit long, but I think the theatrical ending was much better than the DC. How depressing and morbid to find out that life would be better if you were never born :( I don't think the theatrical ending was happy either because he didn't end up with the girl. To me that meant that he wasn't supposed to be with her because everytime he changed the past, he made things worse for her and his friends. She was with someone else most of the times he changed the past anyway. I think it would be worse to actually live without getting who you feel is your "true love."

I misunderstood this....I thought that James Swallow actually wrote the story...I didn't know that it was a novelization of the movie...
