The break up

I seen it 2 weeks ago and really enjoyed it!

Loved Jen's brother haha and the guy who kept going on about attacking people;)

The bedroom scene with Jen crying was v sad and very well done by her:D
 
I thought it was bad. Unfunny and it dragged. Both Vaughn and Aniston basically play the same character in all of their films and this was no exception.

My friend and I (both females, btw) both hated it.
 
They marketed this film as a romantic comedy. Completely wrong. My boyfriend and I went to see it expecting a comedy and hardly laughed. Came out feeling very subdued! I thought I heard they filmed an alternative ending though, because the first was too sad. Do you think they used it?
 
jennifer aniston is NOT movie actress, she should stick to TV. all the way through the film all i could think was how over styled she was. haha and when someone said to her 'you look dreadful'...she looked perfect. she'll never be a big movie star, all she can play are variants on rachel green.

it had the right ending - i would have been annoyed if they'd got back together. having a relationship end is NOT the end of the world. they both obviously moved on
 
Went to see it with my sister, she hated it but i liked it.

Not the best film ever but it did have some realism to it and it ended the way it should have. If they got back together it would have been cheesy.

Maybe not a cinema movie but definately worth a watch on dvd.
 
Saw it yesterday, it's not bad. But what annoyed me was that all through the film, with all that's going on, Jennifer Anniston is still convinced that Vince Vaughn will see the error of his ways and come back to her. I just wanted to slap some sense into her.
 
It didn't really fit into the romantic comedy genre. It left the audience confused and unfulfilled.

When it was funny (rarely) it was good - but many scenes with Aniston and Vaughn arguing were too real and uncomfortable. It didn't seem comedic in the least.

I'm not an Aniston admirer (outside of FrienRAB) and she pretty much delivered the repertoire of facial expressions she's known for. Vaughn on the other hand acted his ass off and stole the whole show.

Average script. Average everything. Not a cinema movie for me (really wish I had waited for the DVD) - more of a kill 90 mins if you can't sleep too well and are able to make the late showing.

With the hype about the ending - I can only assume that they picked the wrong one! The ending I saw was awful - made particularly worse by dragging out the previous 20 mins of scenes and naff script.

You'll pretty much guess here that for me - it was a waste of money.

So it does look like there was a different ending to The Break Up!
 
I realise I'm dragging this thread up again but I thought it better to do that than make a whole other thread.

I really really liked the movie. I was willing them not to get back together and the ending was absolutely perfect for the film. It was an unpredictable film and I'm glad it didn't go down the typical rom-com route. I would definitely watch it again.
 
I didn't think it was as funny as it was made out to be.
Approved of the ending, was fully expecting them to get back together and live "Happily Ever After". Nice surprise that they didn't.
Good acting as well, I thought.
 
I thought the film was ok, funny in some parts. If there was more comedy it would definitely been more enjoyable. It was very realistic, which was kinda a good thing actually.

BTW the alternate ending is the same as the original ending except both Aniston and Vaughn have a new boyfriend/girlfriend when they run into each other.
