The Break-up (Possible Spoilers)

I saw the movie when it came out. Honestly, it didn't turned out the way I thought it would be. I liked it, though. Vince and Jen did an awesome job. The end... well, of course most people would've want a more predictable one, including me, but it's a break up, isn't it? Some people may see as a possibility for them to work their relationship from the start, while others see like they continued their separate lives.

I loved the movie. Vince and Jennifer were funny together and they had great chemistry together. Vince was hilarious, as always and Jenn was fabulous.

I personally loved the ending. I was kind of hoping that they would get back together in the end, but the movie ending was more realistic and less cliche. It made me appreciate the movie more.

I think they marketed this movie all wrong. Judging from the advertisements and commercials, The Break-Up seemed like a typical romantic comedy. Thats what some people were thinking it was going to be. Thats not exactly what they got. That can sour a person's opinion who may have liked it otherwise, but the advertisers did a bait and switch.

Of course this is coming from someone who hasn't seen the movie. I'm just getting this from all the reviews I've read.

I've seen it... and liked it. As a guy, I don't normally go to rom-coms in theaters. Anyways, it isn't a "date" movie, per se, but it does ring true when you've been in a similar situation. There were a lot of childish games trying to "one-up" the other that could've easily been solved with, I don't know, communication? :P

It does bring up good points like sometimes women need to be more forward about what they really want to guys because we can be slow at that. And vice versa, sometimes men need to do their part in the relationship. Sure, the ending deviates from typical rom-coms, but IMO, it worked.

Jon Favreau and Jason Bateman were pretty funny.

I saw this movie on Friday. Eh...it was okay. I guess I just had higher expectations. The ending was just kinda....blah, to say the least. Oh well. That might just be me.

I saw it again while bored this weekend. I loved the open ending because it left the possibility of them getting back together instead of a sappy ending where they are back together for sure. Vince is so great in this movie. I don't know what I would do if I was hit on by a guy that kept talking nonstop and wouldn't leave me alone.

Well said. And this is why I think some are disappointed with the ending.

I loved the movie but even I admit to initially feeling depressed when I walked out of the theater.

My guy friend just told me that the ending wasnt that good. I wonder why..hm. Anyways, yes I do like Vincent, he cracks me up in most of his films and I always liked him in Psycho.

Favreau is the most appealing thing about this movie to me and I'm sure his role is so minor. I absolutely adore the guy though.

Shrrshrr - how dare you not like Vince! I can understand in some roles (Cool Dry Place) but Clay Pigeons? No props for his skills in that DARK comedy?

The people I know that saw this hated the movie, especially ending. But they tend to love movies I think are crap, so I may like it. Plus, Vince is awesome. :sigh:

^ Aww I like your icon, Simon/Paula can be cute!

I think Jen and Vince are very cute.

 probably so, its more of a date movie and a good film for young and older ones to see.

I think it might have beat x-men because everyone and their mother went to see it last week.

Wow that is pretty cool that it even beat X-men. Im shocked by that. Everyone I know has seen the movie expect me, I feel so bummed by that

You haven't seen it yet either? I refuse to go to movies alone. So, yeah...I need to find someone to go with me.

Btw, nice icon. :)
