The Bottom 10: WORST Films of 2007

The number 23. Terrible.

I could be here all day listing reasons because literally everything was wrong with it.

eg Jim Carey plays two parts - one of these characters is supposed to be this dark, brooding detective but, for some inexplicable reason they decided to name him Fingerling.

I didn't see many films last year but the only really BAD film I saw was Spiderman 3.

POTC3 wasn't a great film but it was pretty entertaining - so I wouldn't call it bad.

I didn't get around to seeing Ocean's 13, but if it's anything like Ocean's 12 then add it to my list!

Hannibal Rising was pretty poor, but then the book's pretty poor as well.

2 films I didn't see, but judging by the trailers they are abyssmal - Bee Movie and Alvin and the Chipmunks

The Simpsons Movie -
this will sound on but theres too much story and not enough jokes.
the deleted scenes (baseball game/crop forecast/dmv) are great and it's still beyond me why these were cut. the Disney animal dance was only done becuase this is big screen, no way would they have thought of doing it on the show and a good job to!
a 2nd film would have to feature the main charcters, Burns, Skinner, Rev. Lovejoy etc more.

Didn't see much at the cinema specifically, but top (or bottom 5) worst films of 2007.

5. Pirates 3 - Boring, long winded and added nothing to the franchise that Pirates one hadn't already created.
4. Transformers - Don't get me wrong, the special effects were outstanding and did the 'Transforming' justice. The problem was the childish portrayal of the Autobots, which was most evident when Prime & Co were playing Hide & Seek in the garden. It seemed the script was written for laughs, rather then to the spirit of what Transformers was. Not forgetting the heinous crime of making Bumblebee an All American Muscle Car......sacrilege.
3. Spiderman 3 - Or Spiderman: The Musical as I called it. I was ready to walk out about halfway through, but stuck with it and regret it.
2. Beowulf - Refused to even go see this after learning that it was all CGI. Anyone who has seen Final Fantasy movie will see the difference in the quality of the two films. Suffice to say Beowulf lacked anything to attract me, yes even Jolie is unattractive to me.
1. Harry Potter - I could fill a whole page with why I hate anything to do with this drivel. Lets just say that the Boy Wizard is about as appealing as kissing Hagrid.

I didn't see many films last year, but Shrek 3 was terrible. The jokes were just retreaRAB of the first two films. Prince Charming is too boring and useless a character to be the main villain and then there's Justin Timberlake and his irritating high-pitched voice playing that annoying brat all the way through the film.

I forgot about that one.

I think I spent most of the film with mrpuffin asking "what's going on?" and "why did they do that?".

While not a candidate for worst film of the year, it was still overly self-indulgent tripe!

The thing that 28 Days had that Weeks didn't was believability.

Apart from the fine opening scene, the whole of Weeks was one great travesty of plot holes and stupidity.

sunshine, shrek 3 and 28 weeks later were awful and in the case of the last 2 a disgrace to the previous movies
the bourne ultimatum was dull to say the least (but i did not like the first two either)
and 1408 was another stinker of a story

Spiderman 3 - preachy patronizing rubbish, as ever with Spidey. If I wanted hypocritical morality lectures I would go to church.
I am Legend - save for the exceptional acting by the dog.
Ocean's 13 - as holey as edam cheese.
Hot Fuzz - overrated.
1408 - what on earth is considered special about this movie?

Why don't you stop telling movie makers that they
"should be embarrassed"
or they
"should be ashamed"
Stop telling other people how they should feel, and see a movie you do like, leave those of us to enjoy them rather than forcing how you think people should feel on them, ignorance and lack of intellect to the extreme :o

Rob Zombie's Halloween prequel/reimagining/remake.

Huge fan of the original and I do actually like Zombie's other work but I thought this was poor. Do we really need to know why Michael turned into a serial killer? Using the old cliched he had a poor childhood in a broken home.

Then we get Michael coming back for Laurie and where the original used suspense wonderfully, the remake was done at 100mph. Stalk, stalk, slash slash slash. There's no real character development so when Michael does his thing, we don't care. I was even rooting for Michael to kill them as I found the characters so annoying.

The only thing I would say is that although Malcolm McDowell is no Donald Pleasence, I did actually like his portrayal of Loomis. The rest is pretty forgettable and even if they'd used different characters and dropped the Halloween name completely, I still wouldn't have liked it.

i admit, to looking forward to seeing this. it doesnt open out in here in New Zealand until at least feb. the promotion shite has me interested. all other reviews have had thumbs up. i'll give it a chance though. probely waste of of my $9.50 in the end!!!!
