The Bottom 10: WORST Films of 2007

I pick that movie too, maybe it was the fact it couldnt make up it's mind whether it wanted to be comedy or serious horror, the one dimensional cartoon villains, cliches galore,s**t dialogue, the crappy acting of the lead stars, the nonsensical story or the way Roth hyped this as being a one of the greatest horror movies ever

Excellent idea wasted (a murder factory for the rich is very interesting, pity a decent director didnt get the job).

according to nearly every movie review site I can find, the worse rated film of 2007 is..............:

Who's your caddy

Imdb.com: 1.4/10 (from 7000 votes)
rottentomatoes: 7%

Post your worst films of 2007, along with a reason why you thought they were so bad.

I'll start:

Spiderman 3 - devoid of plot or acting, this high-budget snoozefest somehow tricked millions into watching it. Another lacklustre hollywood sequel.

28 Weeks Later - see "Spiderman 3"

Knocked Up. A film that for all its rave reviews and box office success was basically a back-of-an-envelope idea expanded to fill 129 minutes. Take away the stoner gags and the random grossness and there's very little wit, passion, or plot.

Run Fatboy Run: Unutterably terrible. Crushingly witless, depressingly predictable and an appalling waste of the assembled talent. A colossal waste of an hour and a half of my life. Messrs Schwimmer and Pegg should be embarassed by it.

I laughed twice. Once at an old lady saying "cock", and once at Pegg punching Moran in the balls.

Utter Tripe.

I'm sure there was plenty of not very good films about but of the ones I've seen (all on DVD, I only went to the pictures twice all year - Beowulf and Harry Potter 5 and I liked both of them) the most annoying was Bourne Ultimatum, and that was because of it's faux camera work. I hate that nonsense beyond worRAB and it ruined what was otherwise a perfectly acceptable addition to the franchise. As it happens, I actually liked Spidey 3, Pirates 3 and Shrek 3.

St Trinians sounRAB dire, but then I figured it probably would be, but I'll reserve final judgment till it comes on Sky.

Good god, where do you start with that? The god-awful script, the retarded music sequence, the attempt to shove too much into too little space, the lack of logic, that fact that everyone took their mask off for most of the movie, the fact that Venom made no sense, the fact that Sandman made no sense ("Okay, we are ready to experiment on wooshing sand around to make sure its still sand" *plop*), that he got forgiven in a rough conversation along the lines of: -"Why did you shoot uncle Ben?" "I have a sick daughter" "Why did you run from the cops?", "I have a sick daughter", "Why did you start killing people?" "I have a sick daughter... she has a cane", "I forgive you.", "OK, I'm going to blow away now", or the fact that one of the character had to get a bump on the head and forget the ENTIRE previous film to move the wafer thin plot forward, and retread the same plots as the first movie. Utter, utter crapola, sixth-form badly written bumdrizzle of an idea. Sam Raimi and pals, should be ashamed.

I laughed and I loved that film. :o The more I watch Spidey 3, the more I think it's like a really bad soap opera spin off. I now see why it's heavily criticised, still like it though.

The worst for me:

Pirates 3 - a huge letdown. I was gripped throughout the whole of part 2, lots was happening, but this was painfully boring. I wanted to leave after the first hour, by the end of it I didn't care what happened. Got bored of all the characters.

Dead Silence - just pure lazy, no thrills, half-hearted "horror" shite. Another embarassment added to the horror film category.

The Messengers - just pure lazy, no thrills, half-hearted "horror" shite. Another embarassment added to the horror film category.

28 Weeks Later - everyone was praising this film, but when I got round to seeing it I couldn't understand why. It started off well, but there was something missing, that the first film had. Couldn't match it.

^^^ what he said. I wish someone had had the balls to say "actually, the book is a bit crap, we're going to 're-imagine' it".

I've just thought of another terrible film: Hot Fuzz. It was supposed to be funny, right? Didn't even laugh once. (I love Spaced, but SOTD was poor too, IMO.)

A couple of people have mentioned 28 weeks later... I enjoyed this film to be honest :o

Was a lot better than i expected - not as good as the first, but not as... Americanized as I had feared - be interesting to see if they do 28 months later.....

I didn't think much of Sunshine to be honest.... Was expecting something really good and I was left just a bit confused and disappointed...

JKR has a full veto with any element of the films - nothings getting re-imagined on her watch. Having said that, I really enjoyed the book - but it needed a decent literary editor to hack about 200 pages out. I think we got that with the film, and with the addition of the first great director the HP franchise has seen I was rather impressed with the final product.Had me in stitches.

Ah well - different strokes and that.

Well, yeah, it's Harry Potter, course I liked it :D

I think that literary editor would've come in handy for the Deathly Hallows... (*cough* wandering about in the forest for 150 pages for no good reason *cough*)

Agreed, it looked fantastic; in fact, I think all the films have had great directors. For me, none of them have felt wanting in that department.

I know there's only about 3 other people in the world who didn't like HF... I really just found it a joke-free film.
I wanted to love it, I did! :(

Absolutely 100% without a doubt St Trinians is the worst film of 2007 (I see Click was 2006, so that gets a repreive from the list but I only saw it in November).

Honourable mentions go to:

Spiderman (I still want to punch Kirsten Dunst in the face after 2 sequels) 3

and

Shrek (Why bother) 3

I'm actually struggling with any more, I'd like to say Pirates3 but I'm afraid I quite enjoyed it!

Pirates 3 - a waste of time. If I hadn't been with my family, I would have walked out. I could not engage with it at all. ( The only other film that had the same "effect" on me was Daredevil)
