The boss: has it gone too far?

Excellent idea, asshole. Ghandi does not approve.

Maggie is too moral of a person to pull that shit...She joined when I did.

Enjoy the red bars.

Just say No. It's simple. When she asks you to do something more than you should have to, say No. Stand firm on it. Stand up for yourself, because the worst case scenario is you will be looking for another job. It's not the end of the world.

What was the origional job you were hired for?
You should definately talk to her. Don't make threats or anything unles she does something that can warrent legal action. Like Skippy said, look up your state labor laws to make sure.
Good luck!

I was hired to watch other ppl's children during the day, to make sure they are dry, clean, and well fed. To be sure that they aren't bullied or that they aren't bullying others and finally, to clean up the room at the end of the day. (Such as vacuming, washing the floors, sweeping, taking out garbage -- IN THE CLASSROOMS ONLY)

But she has us (all the workers) doing things like staining cupboards, mowing the lawns, scrubbing the floors on our hands and knees with a green kitchen scrubber and bleach, striping and waxing the floors, moving furniture, sorting out her tax information for the parents... and so on and so forth.

WTF! Tax information!? That is definately not in the work contract. Christ, it makes ME mad and I don't even work for her! Ok, go to a lawyer or someone you know who is well-informed about the law, tell them whats going on, and sue. Better yet, organize all of your co-workers and do it together.

Thats just some strait up bullshit. Don't take it.

You should just tell him that the work being requested of you isn't part of your job description. Seriously, don't feel threatened at all.
Because if this does get in the way of things at work,
you can really fuck shit up and go legal on his ass.

Besides, asking a worker at the office to help clean your house is in my opinion pretty disrespectful. Who the fack does that?
*sigh...
