Ok, this isn't what it looks like from the title. My boss and I aren't doing anything dirty. But she has me as their babysitter now cuz I said I could do it for them once. So the other day I come in and she goes, when's ur prom? I told her and she's like "oh good. It's not in may." I asked her why and she said, "cuz my husband and my aniversary is May 13th and u're gadda babysit for us overnight while we go out to celebrate." Oh, I am huh? Turns out her mom agreed to take them instead, but still, where does she get off telling me when I'm going to baby sit for them. I thought u had to ask if I could first. :rolleyes: And second, she's now guilt tripped me into cleaning her house twice a week for her cuz she "can't do it all anymore." She wants me to do the laundry and everything. And not just the sheets either. Like, their clothes and undergarments. That's not part of regular housekeeping, I know, I've done all that before. Not only that, she's only paying me $6 an hour for it. Trust me, that house is worth like $30 an hour to clean. It's filthy. She asked me today if I could come in at 7 am tomorrow to work on it or if that was too early and I told her that was too early and I'd be there by 8:30. Then I get to go to do regular work at noon. I know she's taking advantage of me, but how do I stop it? How do I tell her w/o risking my job? It just pisses me off that I even allow her to talk me into this. It's cuz I'm too soft. :mad: Fuck, what do I do guys???
 
Just Say No. I think I've said it before, but as long as you let people walk on you, they will. If you don't want to make waves, just tell her that your school work is suffering or something, and you can't clean her house, or do stupid other shit besides what you allow on your availiability sheet you turn in for work.
 
just tell her you have another job you are working at those times, but if she wants to pay you more you will forget that job and do all her shit for her :thumbsup:
you may as well make some decent money out of it..
 
I'd have to check. I think it's like 5.75 or something like that. But I only get $6 an hour and even a CHEAP house cleaner, maid, w/e would charge at LEAST $15.
 
wow... its cheap... Check it, and make sure you're getting over the minimum wage, after making sure of that, tell your boss you want more money or you're not cleaning house.
 
In a serious no-nonsense tone; ask her to clean your house. If she has half a brain, she might think about what she's doing to you before she blurts out: "Why would I clean your house?" Worth a shot.
 
6$ an hour is over the current federal minimum wage so unless your state has a higher rate you can't get her there.

However, depending on what state you live in she can't fire you for refusing to clean her house. Using her position as your boss to force you to do work in her home is probably illegal. Unless you're in a right to work state, she can not fire you or even really punish you for refusing to do that kind of work. If she did, you could sue her for wrongful termination. On the flip side, in a right to work state she can sack your ass for any reason she wants too.

So look up the labor laws in your state and be prepared to stand up for yourself. Telling her you can't do the stuff because of school might work. Then again she might just push harder. Knowing what the laws are allow you to fight back. Is she really going to push you when you start spoutning legal code? On the flip side, that kind of shit makes for some great papers if you're still in school so you can go do the research as a "school project" and then use it for your own gain as well.

If you don't get anywhere that way, call the local labor board. Tell them the story and see what they say.

If all else fails, "accidentaly" spill bleach in the colored clothes... or her couch.
 
Didn't they raise minimum wage to $6.50 an hour?

Maggie, seriously, quit your job, and find another daycare center. They're all over the place here on Long Island, as well as everywhere else I've been.

But seriously, there's got to be some law against that. I'd take Skippy's advice and check out the labor laws where you live. Find a way to get her off your back.
 
dip the laundry in chilli and hang it from the tree on the frot lawn. Tie the dog from the leg an staple the end of the rope to the garbage bin and smak him in the ass. Piss on the living room carpet. Draw a dead bird on the plasma tv with dry erase. And for the cherry on top, put a sign on the front door that says "home sweet home... bitch"
