The Book Of Eli

I watched this today. Interesting idea, I liked the first half, but then it descended into pointlessness.

After hearing there was supposedly a twist, when it happened I barely even realized! That wasn't a twist, that was just pointless! The second half of the film was without payoff for me, I felt like I'd wasted my time, they didn't go anywhere interesting or thought provoking with ANY of it in my opinion.

Was really dissapointed with this. It was drawn out and based upon a poor script. There was so much dodgy product placement it was cringeworthy. The storyline was very poor. Why was everyone scrounging round killing rats and cats when they could have gone to the coast and caught fish??Oldmans bad guy was naff beyond belief. Even denzel couldnt save this turkey. 2/10 worst film Ive seen since the happening!

I thought it was a very good film, and one that was harshly treated by the critics. All of a sudden the slightest hint of religion on screen means you are attempting to brainwash people. rabroad's review is a prime example of this, what a pathetic article.

Im shocked to see I was the only person who worked out the twist early on, probably about half way, there were MASSIVE clues there! I am very anti talking but I had to ask one of my frienRAB (very quietly) if he had picked up on it too otherwise none of them would have believed me afterwarRAB!

my son saw this yesterday, and explained the plot to me

the thing is it seems to me

a) you just couldnt forget there was a Bible (or a Koran etc) - although you might lose the full text

b) but if you did, what difference could it possibly make

just a thought/observation

That wasn't a plot twist it was a plot hole of chasm proportions.

& quite what Michael Gambon & "Miss Jones" were doing playing a couple of crazy old coots is anyone's guess.

Liked the film but I did think it was funny that everyone looked and dressed really rough whilst the girl looked like one of my daughter's mates wrapping up against a bit of a cold day and heading to the shopping centre.
