The Blair Witch Project - another sequel

They did it, all the way to a Blair Witch 13, but the budget was so low, they used a video Kaleidoscope for a Camera, and instead of actors, they just imagined it. Non of it ade it to the screen.

I watched the blair witch on Film4 a little while ago. Is the film supposed to be scary? Also what happened at the end when they found the house? I wasnt concentrating too well:o thanks!

The whole film is a big pile of poo! I was waiting for something scary or creepy to happen but nothing came. The ending was rubbish aswell, when they discovered the witch's (or whatever the thingy was) house and it kills the annoying woman carrying the camera and the other guy with her. Rubbish! And i am not interested in any sequel related to this film.

The sequel was quite rubbish, I like the opening credits sequence over the forest, but apart from that, rubbish.

I liked the second half of the Blair Witch Project, very effective, but the first half was an annoying bore for me and I really HATE point of view hand held camera style used in films. I know it's part of the film but motion sickness is not good for me and I'd rather sit through a film not feeling ill.

I'm sure I heard rumours of another film involving a party of people who where searching for the original three "as it happened" and they too fall into the Blair Witch's clutches.

You sort of had to pay attention earlier in the film when members of the public are being interviewed about the Blair Witch, a man told a story about how he heard that the Witch made people stand in a coroner of the room facing the wall before she killed them because she couldn't take the eyes staring at her. If you remember when Heather walked/ran into the basement terrified, she saw Mike standing in the corner facing the wall and became even more terrified because she knew he was about to be killed. However it was her who was killed.

For a film of 1999 I thought it was pretty impressive for it's time.

I enjoyed it when I saw it originally, I don't think i've seen it since and can't ever imagine sitting through it again though, maybe i'll just watch the last five minutes.

My mate at the time actually thought it was real, plebo :D

Give them a break :D It did say at the start of the film:

"In October of 1994, three student filmmakers disappeared in the wooRAB near Burkittsville, Maryland while shooting a documentary.

A year later their footage was found
."

Who'd question that?! :D

He obviously didn't, he totally bought into the whole thing. I don't even think I told him it wasn't :p

Being honest I would have loved to have gone into it thinking it was real. might have actually been scary then.

The idea of the ending of the first Blair Witch is that it's so ambiguous there are any number of explanations. I think a good one is all three of them were trying to shit each other up in the wooRAB but then at the end Josh took it too far and killed both the others in the style of the Blair Witch (they had already been told by the guy at the beginning how the Witch did it).

I think your reading to much into it.
Im pretty sure the story is that it IS the witch that kills them, but like a good witch she is, shes never caught on camera.

Saying that it was easy to see why it made so much noise at the time, because it was one of the first films to use the internet as a compelling storytelling device and a ad campaign combined because by the time it came to watch the movie in the cinema, people had bought into the whole back story of the Blair Witch and Rustin Parr,it was a very good viral campaign that did its job

The first movie is a personal fav movie of mine. I love the whole first person camera thing to it which is another reason why i liked Cloverfield

As far as i am aware, Blair witch 2 never really followed on from the 1st and I haven't dare to see it because of hearing it isn't really a continuation and because it;s so damn bad.

I know they were working on a sequel a while back but then the cinematographer bloke died and that was the last I heard about it. would be great if they could do another sequel in the same vane as the original, it'd be not so great if they did one in the same vane as BWP2 though.

I saw the first film on Film 4 recently, and thought I'd give the sequel a go. It is not scary whatsoever, and very very predictable, but not the worst movie I've seen - the goth girl is pretty good in it.

Well the sequel's premise is that some fans of the first movie decide to go on a movie pilgrimage, basically.

Its a terrible, terrible film... It basically killed the franchise possiblities (hey, this is horror) stone dead... Its taken till now to decide where they go with it, but I would like to see the original premise, of going back to see Elly (the witch herself) and what happened around her to cause the people of Blair to exhile her, and what subsequently happened to the people of Blair.
