The Blair Witch Project and Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2

When I first saw Blair Witch I did find it scary and enjoyed it very much, even though I went in with a cynical attitude and thought it would be rubbish. It wasn't the scariest movie ever, but in the dark, seeing it for the first time - it definitely made me jump. After that, I watched it numerous times and found myself analysing it each time until it completely lost any sense of mystery or surprise. I think it still stanRAB as a good horror film, and the marketing of it (major use of internet rumours and urban myth) was superb. And, like any horror film watched in the middle of the night, maybe on your own, it can still make you jump!

I actually enjoyed the sequel. I didn't expect anything of it and found it entertaining in a cheesy way. It is enjoyable in the same way that Wild Things 2 or Blues Brothers 2000 are - not a patch on the original movies (not really trying to be either) but an entertaining way to spend a couple of hours.

i liked the first one - but you had to really let yourself be absorbed by it. unfortunately when i saw it, there were some teenage girls behind us, who were obviously expecting Another Teen Scare Movie, and pissed themselves all the way through it, which didn't help. thought the ending was extremely chilling - just that moment of realisation.

and the whole web stuff was brilliant - a superb idea executed brilliantly.

never saw the second one tho.
