How can anyone create a big budget movie this bad in the 21st century?
Performances that look like a filmed rehearsal, flat direction interspersed with ott crane shots for no good reason, anachronistic dialogue and crashingly inappropriate music.
Oh, and sub-James Dean mumbler Josh Hartnett, who appears to have had his eyes removed.
It makes me think Brian de Palma's successful movies were flukes. :eek:
 
I think Brian is hugely over rated. If you look on his IMDb page you'd be hard pushed to pick out 3 good movies from the 38 he has made. I also noticed he is making The Untouchables: Capone Rising. Oh dear!
 
With The Black Dahlia I was expecting something like L. A. Confidential but I didn't get it.
I reckon it's been downhill for BdP since Carrie and The Fury. :cry:
