The bible says wisdom comes from God, thats interesting not offensive, why not...

...discuss, maturely.? Yes interesting.... the bible says wisdom comes from God.

it does, but God is good, he knows we are weak, and he knows some of you are using Evil.
i dont know how that works but people seem to prefer it, i am not sure why.
i like using my brains, i believe in talent and skills, education and fighting for my freedom.
there is no need to be offended, we are all in the same boat, itis not a destructive comment.

James 3: 8But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

9Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

10Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

11Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

12Can the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries? either a vine, figs? so can no fountain both yield salt water and fresh.

13Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

14But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.

15This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.

16For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.

17But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

18And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

James 1: 5If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Wisdom comes from within, wisdom has nothing to do with how much knowledge you have/what you know.Wisdom is very simply -the ability to use that knowledge in a logical and impartial manner.I know many people who have massive memory capacity, they can recite verbatim masses of text word for word, formulae and lore, but are totally unable to rationalise or use and understand the meaning of it.This is most commonly displayed by religious zealots who can quote masses of text from their various books, but are totally lost in any meaningful logical debate, they are just not capable of doing it.A wise man once said---"IT IS NOT ONLY THE SIGHTED WHO CAN SEE THE LIGHT".

I consider any new deity that is so weak of class it inspires its followers to attempt to convert those of much older faiths by sword and/or torture to be "evil". I'm not "using evil". Some Abrahamic faiths did and still are using evil, though.

My Gods are good. They expect me to take responsibility for my actions both good and bad. The Abrahamic faiths are forgiven by their young deity so they can be as rotten and hateful and "evil" as they want to be as long as they act contrite afterward. How is that kind of thing "good"? Should we set murderers and child molesters free if they say they're sorry? Same thing in my mind.

1. Get some Christians.
2. Get some Atheists/Scientists.
3. Lock them in a room.
4. Then, ask this question

Hmmmmm, God is wise, I often hear about HIS wisdom. I didn't know that wisdom came from God but then I guess everything good does.

I always assume that wisdom comes from our life experiences - what we go through, witness, hear about, it all builds wisdom but nothing builds wisdom more than experience.

You can tell a kid a thousand times if he runs he's gonna fall and skin a knee but until he does and experiences the hurt and pain, he's gonna run 'til he falls.

I think we should trust in God's wisdom. Like when I was a kid and my parents would say " trust me" and I wouldn't because I thought I knew it all!! As I grow up I can say to kids, trust me, you don't want to smoke or curse.....but they sometimes won't listen, they're gonna do it anyway until they mature enough and become wise enough to know what is good for them and what's not. In that same regard, I know we should trust God's wisdom and advice. But we fail miserably a lot of times, because we're human!

so you don't have any problems using the Internet instead of your brains talent & skills then.......that's all fine what you said - IF you believe in such nonsense. personally i don't - but each to their own!

First - prove that there is a god

Second - prove that your god is the true god

Third - prove your god is good. The Bible has your god saying he is the source of evil too. And logically - since your god claims to have created everything, that makes sense.

The bible says a lot things - talking snakes & donkeys jump immediately to mind

The Bible (always a capital B) also says that the world has four corners and is held up by pillars, and that Pi equals exactly 3.00.

UPDATE: a down-thumb from a Christian, for quoting from the book he says is a source of knowledge ... interesting.
.

1 Corinthians 1:30 says, "But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God…"
Jesus became wisdom from God for us! Now read Proverbs 3:13-16 verses with this in mind…
13 Happy is the man who finds Jesus, And the man who gains understanding;
14 For Jesus' proceeds are better than the profits of silver, And Jesus' gain than fine gold.
15 Jesus is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with Jesus.
16 Length of days is in Jesus' right hand, In Jesus' left hand riches and honor.
And consider Proverbs 4:7-9 …

7 Jesus is the principal thing; Therefore get Jesus. And in all your getting, get understanding.
8 Exalt Jesus, and Jesus will promote you;Jesus will bring you honor, when you embrace Jesus.
9 Jesus will place on your head an ornament of grace; A crown of glory Jesus will deliver to you.
Consider this as you read the book of proverbs. See the word "wisdom" - think about "Jesus". The full implications of this are staggering, especially in light of 1 Corinthians 2:7 which says: "But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory,"
Jesus becoming Wisdom is a mystery, just as the Trinity is a mystery. God will share this mystery with those who fear Him: Psalm 25:14: "The secret of the Lord is with those who fear Him,…"

That's not really interesting or helpful at all, in my opinion. To start with, there's no reason to think that's so, and it seems to discourage using one's own mind to try to figure things out and improve things, instead it reads to me like something that encourages you simply accepting whats in the bible as fact without questioning, as it is 'the word of god'.
