The Best/Worst Bond Girl

Right, best bond girl, its got to be a good looker, gets in most of the action and most importantly doesn't get in the way of James' mission.

For me its got to be Natalya Simonova from Goldeneye because of all the reasons above with Pussy Galore a close second

The worst would have to Miss Mary Goodnight from The Man With The Golden Gun, though not bad to look @, she cant win on good looks alone as she causes a lot of hinderence to James due to her not being that bright and doesn't get much action!!

So who would you pick and why?

Best has to be Fatima Blush (Barbara Carrera) from Never Say Never Again: funny, lethal and sexy as hell. The scene where she lobs a snake into someone's car is unforgettable. :D

Worst is a tie between Britt Ekland and Famke Janssen: both gorgeous, wooden and hopeless in almost every movie they've been in.

Okay, I tried to narrow it down to a best and a worst. But it was too tricky. 5 best, 5 worst.

BEST

* Always had a fondness for Carey Lowell as Pam Bouvier in Licence to Kill. While she's not particularly exotic, she's gorgeous, can act and doesn't need constant rescuing. Her relationship with Bond is also one of the more interesting in the series.

* Natayla (Izabella Scorupco) as she's exotic, beautiful and seems to get to ol' Bond unlike many of the others.

* Ursula Andress seems to get more beautiful as Honey Rider every time I see Dr No. Okay, so she's a proper damsel in distress and hopelessly naive (dragons?!) but...what an entrance!

* Sophie Marceau as Electra in TWINE. One of the best aspects of a rather dull entry. Beautiful, interesting character...and -woah- that accent!

* Luciana Paluzzi as Fiona in Thunderball also deserves a mention. 'Takes Bond for a ride' and refuses to be turned from the dark side. This girl is all bad!

WORST

* Despite being the first woman to get Bond to walk up the aisle, Kissy Suzuki (Mie Hama) from You Only Live Twice is extremely bland and given few lines and little to do. Despite being onscreen for a considerable amount of time, we don't even find out her name until the end credits!

* Denise RicharRAB was laughably bad in TWINE as Christmas Jones. The girl can't act and the character is under-developed.

* Found Teri Hatcher irritating in Tomorrow Never Dies (surprising as I was quite a fan of her's in "Lois and Clark" back in the day!). Hard to believe that this character 'got too close'.

* Brit Ekland as Mary Goodnight for the reasons you stated. A nuisance to Bond and, as in TWINE, there's the feeling that Bond enRAB up with the wrong bird.

* Worst of the lot is Tanya Roberts in A View to A Kill. A terrible actress whose constant screams of "James" in the elevator sequence is quite an annoyance. Laughably bad when she's relied on for exposistion too.

BEST

has got to be Ursula Andress as Honey Rider (even though we didn't get to hear her voice)

WORST

most definitely Brit Ekland as Mary Goodnight

The ghastly Never Say Never Again doesn't count; it was a renegade Bond (when I come to power, every copy will be burned) . And I have to say I thought Barbara Carrera's atrocious performance was by far the worst thing in that sorry mess.

Best Bond girl is difficult because, despite what critics might argue, the best are actually very different. Honey, Tatiana, Pussy, Tracy, and Anya could all lay claim to the top slot, but how would one possibly choose between them?

The worst is easier. Has to be a toss-up (no pun intended) between Mary Goodnight and Stacey Sutton.

Denise Richard's Christmas Jones was the most unbeivable physicist on the planet - and styled as a Lara Croft knock-off. She looked okay though and I enjoyed the fact that they held off of the apalling Christmas comes but once a year jokes until the finale scenes.

For best, I love Diana Rigg in OHMSS.

I know I'm in a minority here but Never Say Never Again, although only a tarted up version of Thunderball, is a Bond movie, like it or not and I loved it, even the title song.
It's nowhere near as bad as Casino Royale or anything with Pierce Brosnan. The only thing wrong with it is Bernie Casey, who gives one of the worst performances in cinema history.
Glad to see nearly everyone agrees about Mary Goodnight though. :)
