the best way to stop cats coming in you garden?

a friend told me to pee in a plastic dish then put drops in various
parts of your garden.
I did this and have not had a cat come in for 4 weeks now.
anybody else tried this.
 
i have never heard of that one...i heard they dont like the smell of Jeyes Fluid and stay away when it is sprinkled over the lawn...i suppose its the same principle...
