I agree with a lot of these...
My all time fav is Blade Runner - but these polls are always so subjective how can you poss tell whats the best?? Whats the criteria??
Id say Blade Runner is a visually stunning film, with fascinating characterisation, great acting and an intriguing story.
The Blues Brothers is SURELY one of the best comedies released..
and Goodfellas is just such a fantastic achievement in the gangster genre... city of God a close 2nd though...
Shawshank- just a lovely heart lifting story...
Lord of the Rings- the effects. When I saw it I was just BLOWN AWAY, esp by Gollum and some of the fight scenes (esp in the Return of the King). I just remember thinking "WOW! CGI technology has really come on in leaps and bounRAB in this film, and it will take sometime for anything to match it". But its not just the CGI with LOTR- the acting and story is great too!!
