The best DVD movie scene/chapter to show off your home cinema system

Imagine the scene, you've proudly got your plasma/lcd tv set up with your home cinema 5.1 surround sound system. Your sceptical mate comes over with a 'what's all the fuss attitude' What's the best chapter or scene from a DVD film that'll leave him open mouthed and you grinning like a cheshire cat in the corner!

Any of the action scenes from Transformers (2007), particularly the street battle at the end :D

In fact, any Michael Bay film would give your set up the test it deserves.
 
The 1999 remake of The Haunting. Yes the film itself may not have been all that great, but it's still one of the best audio reference quality DVD's around today, easily. The sound mix is so good in fact it lifts the film out of its many screenplay slumps when viewed on decent home cinema equipment.
 
Any Michael Bay film of course. As for surround sound, don't laugh but any ship board episode of Star Trek. The engine sound was always in the background, so when showing it there should be the same background sound from all around
 
The launch scene from Apollo 13. On a 50 inch plasma - with 5.1 surround and a huge sub woofer - its almost like being at the real launch.

The THX sound test at the beginning of Starwars - EP1 & 2 (the thunderstorm and lightning shattering the glass sphere) - really shows off your surround sound.

The opening sequence in Starwars Ep3 is amazing, as is the main battle sequence in Starwars Ep2.
 
There a scene in 1492 Conquest of Paradise, set below decks. The creaking of the ship is awesome. I always find it's the small atmosphere creating effects that are the best

The Haunting - Jap Version DTS-ES Full Bitrate.

Not a brilliant movie but the soundtrack is still probably one of the best out there.

One thing's for sure, it will let you know what your system is fully capable of. ;)

I don't know if it's quite the same on the DVD but the scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade where they are being attacked by the german plane was extremely impressive at the cinema. You could hear the plane flying around the back of the cinema.
