The best bike route from Mt. Airy to University City, Philadelphia?

I will be attending grad school this summer, leaving little time for the gym, so I thought I'd save gas and get some exercise by riding to school. I can't seem to make an online map show me if Spring Garden is really bike-able from the Art Museum. Anyone know, or have suggestions?
