The best and worst film actor ever

Luke101, I adore Orlando with all my heart, but he isn't a great actor, mate.

Best actress- Cate Blanchet (she makes my heart melt, and I'm entirely straight up)
Worst actress- Andie McDowell- can she CARRY A LINE?
 
Yuck - what's that overly sweet taste ..... it's almost as if I was eating treacle covered with sugar with a bit of treacle on top :D It seems that he has sacrificed actual acting for playing goodie-goodie roles. Road to Perdition is a perfect example - should have been a hard-@$$ killer - instead turns out to be luvvie duvvie 'papa save me' sugary flavoured sugar saviour.
He has caught the Spielberg Oscar

'Ever' is a long time. My favourite current actor is Johnny Depp. My least favourite is Hayden Christensen. Delving back into cinema history, you'd have to be going some to find a better actor than Spencer Tracey or a worse one than Ronald Reagan
 
I can't answer the question. :cry: There has been too many great actors and actress, also too many bad ones.

I was brought up in a house were movies are actually studied from the Silent era to the present.

Maybe we should have a discussion about who were the best actors from the different eras.

It's an impossible choice.

I always hate the polls they do on C4 because they always miss out on the actors/movies that first made movie history because those from the early perioRAB movie making are very rarely metioned and forgotten, I don't even mean those made during the silent era.
 
yes,what was that dire re-make with de niro and mickey rourke when they played escaped convicts pretending to be priests?if there are two actors less suited to comedy......:)
 
Worst: Easily Madonna & Whitney, Vin Diesel
Best: Denzil, De Niro, Pacino
I also think Leo Di Cap & Johnny Depp aren't too shabby.
 
LMAO - as soon as I saw this thread a lightbulb just came on "Van Damme slating time" - He is officially the worst actor ever, his films are hilarious tho!! Seen Death Warrant? Well that is one to watch, especially the scene where his enemy is thrown into a incinorator and climbs back out :p

Best actor - Al Pacino is pretty dam good. I heard some old guys were pretty good, but I am too young :cool:
 
I have to say I love, De Nero, Pacino, Jodie Foster Minnie Driver,
Jennifer Connolly (Big Sigh), Judy Dench, Maggie Smith, Tom Hanks, Sir Alec Guinness, Laurel & Hardy and CHAPLIN.
 
Dunno who's best but my favourite actor is Brian Denehy. I've never seen a poor performance from that guy. Just wish he'd get some more recognition and bigger parts in movies. Can't understand how anyone can think Russel Crowe is a bad actor. His performance in M&C was outstanding. Worst? Hmm...there can be only one...Hugh Grant. If you shook his hand you'd get splinters. J-Lo's pretty poor too, but forgivable coz she's so damn hot. ;)
 
Andie MacDowell is possibly the most wooden actress of all time - god alone knows what casting people see in her.

I'll also join the back of the long queue to kick Van Damme and Seagal's pansy asses. I have never managed to sit through an entire movie 'starring' either of them. From what I've read they're both pretty unpleasant characters in real life too.
 
I agree with Ben Kingsley in Sexy Beast - fantastic... But so is De Niro in so many films, Heat's a cracker.... Worst, and I can't believe no one has mentioned him, what about Keanu Reeves... My God - did you see him in The Matrix? He was just awful... And Speed?... And on a tangent, Jack Nicholson's only got so many awarRAB because he just plays himself! How difficult is that?!.....
