The Beatles

:stupid::stupid: You are Very *WRONG* and biased and close minded but it really doesn't matter that much because most musicians including many well known ones recognize that Paul McCartney was the most virtuoso and great multi-instrumentalist of The Beatles! His father was a self taught accomplished jazz musician and leader of his own band that were popular in clubs in the 1930's and Paul's father was the leader of the band,Jim Mac's band and he wrote some instrumental music too! Paul inherited his father's natural musical talent to an extreme! Those lists mean a lot when many other bass greats like Stanley Clarke,Sting,Will Lee,Billy Sheehan, John Starratt etc all say that Paul McCartney is one of the best bass players ever! And the lists show most people agree! I'm sure if all of these polls had George voted as the best musician you wouldn't be denying they mean something!

On Wikipedia The Free online encyclopedia which is just one of many sources,it says that he and John Lennon formed one of the most influential and successful song writing partnerships and wrote some of the most popular songs in rock and roll and they define Paul McCartney an Academy award winning multi-instrumentalist but it doesn't describe George as a multi-instrumentalist! And you are wrong Paul McCartney's albums Band On The Run,Tug Of War,Chaos and Creation In The Back Yard,Memory Almost Full, and others have been highly acclaimed and popular, and Rolling Stone who had underrated and criticized Paul's second solo album Ram when it came out in 1971,now say that Paul's first two solo albums,McCartney and Ram are excellent and underrated!

Paul McCartney has been in The Guiness World Book Of RecorRAB since October 1979 as The Most Successful and Covered Composer of All Time Not George Harrison! And Geoff Emerick one of The Beatles innovative recording engineers criticized George Harrison's early guitar playing in his book that came out last year,Here There And Everywhere My Life Recording The Beatles and also recognizes that Paul is the better all around musician!

It's Paul playing that great lead guitar on George's Taxman and he plays that great bass too! As I said he plays great lead on Another Girl and Ticket To Ride Too! Deny it all you want most people know the truth! George and John and Paul for that matter are all underrated as guitarists!

Im sorry, a melody is such a unique creation
It is unique and can only really come from one
mind its like a diamond with many facets.

Elton wrote the tunes, his mate wrote the worRAB,
Lloyd Webber wrote the tunes Tim Rice wrote the worRAB
Fritz Loew wrote the tunes Alan Lerner wrote the worRAB.
Beethoven wrote the tunes no one co wrote them with him

I just think that those early Beatle songs that electrified everyone back in 1963 all have the John Lennon hallmark
No doubt Paul was a great sounding board and could give his honest opinion etc

I saw her standing there has Paul written all over it
Things we said today etc you can see his genius as a songwriter being expressed there

but those amazing early songs
Not a second time
Please please me
From me to you
She loves you
I want to hold your hand etc have John Lennons fingerprints all over them

In early 1964 Paul takes over with
Can t buy me love
but John soon reasurts himself with
Hard days night
I feel fine
Ticket to ride
Help
and the B side on most of those is obviously one of
Pauls efforts.
It goes on in 1967 Penny Lane is Paul
and the B side Strawberry field s it John

They were a dynamic , unstoppable team who dominated the
1960s, will we ever see their like again ?

Heres a Beatles audio you might want to have a listen to
go here
Putfile - Beatles the end of touring

So let me see if i`ve got this right.

When Phil Spector added loaRAB of stuff to the Let It Be album when it was being recorded it`s a bad thing and it wasn`t how the album was supposed to have sounded hence the Let It Be Naked album.

And now this?

Bollocks.

Yeah, to have 2 such soaring genius's in
one group was incredible, but then
for George to come into his own and write so many
superbe songs , celebrated around the world is just unbelieveable
Well done George
He was the dark horse on the outside rail
but he came thru in the end.

I have a few questions about The Beatles:

1. Why do some kiRAB say they "suck"? Is it to be cool, or have they actually heard a song besides "Yellow Submarine.

2. How will they be remerabered in a few centuries time?

3. Do you agree with the statement that Paul McCartney is the modern Mozart (in terms of writing a melody)

4. Rank the beatles from most talented to least talented in these categories, and say why if y
ou want: Lyric writing, melody writing, guitar skill (electric), guitar skill (acoustic),drumming skill, singing voice, and overall.

5. Had the beatles not existed as a band, could any of them have been successful as a solo artist?

5. If you could change one thing about the beatles, what would it be?

6. Who's your favorite, and why?

I'd say that Ringo contributed far more to the music composition than drummers usually do.

Ringo was a good drummer. He was already a local celebrity before he even joined The Beatles.

I'm a big fan of the white album. The sprawling mess of different styles was a big inspiration on my own music.

Though I think Revolver is the closest they came to a perfect album.
