I think Im right, I think it was Lennons wild energy
and genius in those early songs that fueled
Beatlemania, I don t think Paul had that much to do
with it.
By mid and late 60s Lennon was into his psychedelic period with classics like Strawberry fielRAB and I am the Walrus
Tomorrow never Knows on the Revolver album had been the first straw in the wind of the new psychedelic phase
Turn off your mind, relax and float down stream,
It is not dying, it is not dying
Lay down al thoughts, surrender to the void,
It is shining, it is shining.
Yet you may see the meaning of within
It is being, it is being
In the 70s Lennon sailed into calmer waters and
wrote some cool introspective songs songs that were
about him and his lover Yoko
Oh My Lover for the first time in my life
My eyes are wide open
He was calming down, he was taking one day at a
time and coming up with some brilliant songs.
He was a massive talent and, had he lived he would
probably have been still productive at age 60 just like
Elton John
Funnily enough, George Harrison said that he rated
Bob Dylan as No 1 , even above Paul and John
..............thats loyalty for ya !
