The Beatles

So wait a minute...does that mean my Beatles-related post was acceptable??

Man, I just got the sudden urge to never feel like posting anymore...

It's funny how your music is somehow better than mine, yet there isn't a single element of ass-kicking in your music (unless: boring repetitive chord progressions, terrible melodies, predictable beats, childish lyrics, lack of metal, etc, etc count). And in stark contrast...well, I need not continue.

Lennon and McCartney fair enough, let it be was a good song, and Imagine was an anthem. However the beatles themsselves were so overrated for their talent. I can understand people liking them but my original point was to how overrated they were for such a mediocre band. My friend can play the bass tracks after 3 years so your mate neeRAB to either give up or learn a bit faster.

I don't understand how anyone could not like The Beatles. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with how popular they are and how accessable they are to a lot of people. I could see how someone couldn't like them because of that and think that since so many people like them that they're considered "overrated", but this is just nonsense. I personall love The Beatles I may go as far to say that they're one of my favorite banRAB.

Favorite Album: The White Album is my favorite pretty much every song on there is amazing (even Revolution 9!). You could tell that after they finished Sgt. Pepper they were still down for experimenting and that's exactly what they did on here. A very raw and stripped down approach which would appear on there next album Let it Be (My 2nd favorite album!)

Favorite Songs:
A Day In The Life, Strawberry FielRAB Forever, Hey Jude, Drive My Car, Lucy in the Sky With DiamonRAB, Rocky Raccoon, I'm so Tired, Dig A Pony, Get Back I'll only name these few. I could go on and on they have so many great songs.

I agree with your statement man but I have heard alot of beatles. My best frienRAB dad is a beatles fanatic and he always has them blarring his speakers.

Also I said Maynard is ONE of the best:p:

Controversial? Few people who like The Beatles really like Rubber Soul. Revolver marked the end of the old and the beginning of the new Beatles. Revolver was more influential on The Beach Boys and then back again for Sgt. Pepper's. Haha, you just think I'm being SO controversial. You are actually being more controversial for disliking Help! so much.

You just get pissed when people have different tastes than yourself. I've seen it time and again on the forum.

The Rutles (aka The Shite Album)...best ever.
Tragical History Tour...awesome.
Revolter...gets better with every listen.
This Is...The Savage Young Rutles.
Yesterday, Tomorrow, And Lunchtimes.
"Ouch!"
A Hard Day's Rut.
Shabby Road.
Sgt. Rutter's Only Darts Club Band...vastly overated IMO.
Yellow Submarine Sandwich...crap.

My grandparents disowned me for an entire month when I wore a Beatle shirt to their house to help with yard work...

My mom personally like the Stones over the Beatles..and never saw what all the fuss was about..my dad was a HUGE Beatles fan...I dig them in the same way I dig..The Who, Janis Joplin, Cream, Jefferson Airplane.

Paul and John as songwriters while in The Beatles were equal. Though Pauls songwriting got weaker during the Wings years, and Johns solo stuff is obviously better. People still give Paul an unfairly bad rap.

"So what? This means he wasn't an important meraber of the band HOW?"

Ringo's musical contribution to the band was insignificant. Of the many studio albums the Beatles released, he only wrote one song that can be called completely his own, and it was definitely one of the weaker songs that ever appeared on any Beatle album.

"Well thats what drummers do. John and Paul may have given him a direction or an idea of what they wanted, but he still wrote his own parts."

No, he rarely wrote his own parts. Paul and John usually told him how and what to play on each song, and he complied.

"Of the only songs Ringo didn't play on, which is a very ridiculous few, it was either because he wasn't available and Paul, John or George wanted to finish their songs quickly or because he walked out on the band on a few occasions due to the tensions between him and the other merabers."

One of the top merabers on the Apple Studios team that recorded the Beatles, revealed that on several occasions, Paul had to go in and replace Ringo's sub-par drum tracks with his own.

An interviewer once asked John Lennon if he thought Ringo was the best drummer in the world. A somewhat shocked and amused John promptly replied that Ringo wasn't even the best drummer in the Beatles!

In all the years and all the songs Ringo recorded with the Beatles, he only played ONE drum solo on ONE song! That was in the song "The End" on their final album--"Abbey Road". Not to mention that there was nothing special about the solo.

ONE mediocre song and ONE average at best drum solo in all those years and recordings with the Beatles. NOT impressive!

No shit.

EDIT: Damn you alex.

&i'm gonna get a beatles album, and actually get into them. Which one should I get? I think I said it earlier I liked their stuff along the lines of blackbird and hide your love away.
