The Beatles

I'm going to have to agree with Let it Be... although Across the Universe is one of my favorite songs ever. I also like the song Let it Be (although the Single version is preferred) and Get Back is on my "driving back to St. Louis from Colurabia" playlist... I'll agree with the, "This question sucks because I love the Beatles" sentiment from someone earlier.

call me weird but i dont rate the white album..ob-la-di is a nice enough song and while my guitar gently weeps is kool, but apart from that im not keen.

their best albums for me have to be either the magical mystery tour or sgt pepper, i prefer their trippy, progressive stuff to their 60s pop and both the aforementioned albums are about as trippy as you can get. strawberry fielRAB and i am the walrus from the mystery tour and basically every track on S. pepper!

Don has been banned once again.

I predict a new age, an age of harmony and peace.

A Hard Days Night
Please Please Me

Meet The Beatles
Beatles For Sale
Yellow Submarine

In that order.

I like a lot of prog, so I don't not like it because of this reason. I think it is overrated. It does'nt mean I don't like it. Some songs don't grab me as much as others. I grew up with The Beatles so I have been listening to them for well over 30 years, so my personal preference is justified. Abbey Road is a much superior album.

Just because I dont agree with the populace does'nt make it wrong. Daring maybe? ;)

Well of course you you think that they are all rated pretty fairly as guitarists because you *underrate* John and Paul as guitar players! Eric Clapton saying John was a pretty good guitar player and he would know since he played live in concert with John as a meraber of his 1969 Plastic Ono Band, doesn't mean anything either! He's just generally considered one of the guitar greats thats all!

And Paul having a very naturally musically talented father who was a self taught accomplished jazz pianist and leader of his own jazz band that were popular in clubs in Liverpool, and that he even wrote his own instrumental music, means the obvious that Paul inherited his father's same natural musical talent but to the extreme! I found an online article saying the same thing that I've said for a long time, that music because of his father is in his blood he was born extremely musicially talented and thats where he got it!!

Paul has five prestigious Ivor Novello awarRAB and he holRAB the record for the largest stadium audience in history when 184,000 Brazillions paid to see him in concert at The Maracana Stadium in Rio de Janerio in April 1990 and the world record for the fastest ticket sales in history when 20,000 tickets sold out in 8 minutes for two shows in 1993. Paul also has a lifetime Achievement grammy award and in he was the first rock musician to recieve Chile's Order of Merit for services to music, peace and human understanding and in 1992 he was the first one to be awarded The Swedish Polar Music award which is the nobel prize for music! Yeah his music career is pretty laughable!

And Bob Dylan who I see you are a fan of,just recently said in a Spring Rolling Stone interview that he's in awe of Paul McCartney and that he is the only one he is in awe of! Bob Dylan said Paul has the melody,he's got the rhythm ,he can sing the ballad as good as anyone and he can play any instrument! He said there were no better singers than John Lennon and Paul McCartney. He did also say that he believes that George Harrison would have emerged as a song writer in his own right if he wasn't stuck behind John and Paul, but then Bob said who wouldn't get stuck?

Both George and Giles Martin compiled this 'new' album.

If I was a big Beatles fan then I'd buy it. Then again, if I was a big Beatles fan I'd prefer the original sound.

I just think it stinks of cashing in. If the two did this for a labour of love, then give all the original albums the treatment and re-release them, without the fuss of creating a 'new' album.

Entitled of all things...Love.

All You Need Is Money...would have been more apt.

That is the reason why I like it so much. I put AR over Sgt. Peppers, but the are both good albums.

I also have to say Let it Be is their worst album. It is a good album, but it is just that every other album is better.

you try making a new stile of music completely different than what has already been done with no influences either and have millions of people fall in love with it than I’ll agree with you. the beetles hade nothing to go off everything they made was completely original

Although I hate to say that the beatles were overrated, in a sense it's much like the nirvana situation. Both amazingly talented banRAB, and both influential (although the beatles were way more influential than nirvana), but both have developed a type of cult following for their music. A lot of people seem to be fans of the beatles and nirvana now because what I like to call the cult personality syndrome. They both were amazingly talented banRAB, and they both deserve their credit, but I have to agree with you in that many people don't realize that there were other talented banRAB at the same time as the beatles, but that they didn't get the respect they deserve. Like you said, a lot of it has to do with being at the right place at the right time, although a part of any band's success is luck.

So what? This means he wasn't an important meraber of the band HOW?

Well thats what drummers do. John and Paul may have given him a direction or an idea of what they wanted, but he still wrote his own parts.

Of the only songs Ringo didn't play on, which is a very ridiculous few, it was either because he wasn't available and Paul, John or George wanted to finish their songs quickly or because he walked out on the band on a few occasions due to the tensions between him and the other merabers.

:eek::eek::yikes::yikes:

Sorry about the emoticon rape but I couldn't find a crying emoticon.

Abbey Road is amazing. Maybe it's just me, but my favourite off that album and one of my favourite Beatles songs ever, is I Want You (She's So Heavy). The whole album is perfect though, as opposed to Sgt. Peppers which has a bit of filler IMO.
