The Beatles

In my opinion, The Beatles have one of the most solid musical catalogues in rock history. With the exception of a few tracks (really just Revolution 9, Run For Your Life and Chains), I like every single song and album that the Beatles have released. My frienRAB think I'm crazy for liking such songs as Sun King or Bungalow Bill, but in my opinion their unusuality and eclectic nature makes them so fascinating and fun to listen to.

Hmm.. I wasn't aware that there was a comment made by John that pissed the man off. Would you happen to know the lines of the comment?

Thanks for all your reviews. I'll have to make sure I get all those albums. Right now I just have them on tape from when my dad use to play them

those people just haven't listened to 1 or 2 of their albums completely. I didn't get it until I sat through Magical Mystery Tour and Sgt. Peppers after hearing all their old **** on the oldies station.

Without their later stuff I don't think they would have been as revered as they are today (imo). Also, YES I was joking (as Proggy Man stated)... they are anything BUT underrated in the grand scheme of things. Too bad Ringo was such an underrated drummer :)

p.s. if anybody here has the chance to see "The Fab Faux"... do it, they are awesome.

I agree, I don't think Yoko broke up the band at all. There was already a lot of tension going on before Yoko showed up. Also I think Please Please me deserves a little more credit, even though it's their earliest work, I think it's their best out of their first three or four or so albums. I sadly don't listen to the Beatles that much anymore, but my favorite albums back in the day were Rubber Soul, Revolver, and the White Album

I got them when I first heard Rubber Soul and Revolver. A Hard Day's Night the album is underrated in terms of Beatles albums go. The early Beatles emphasized melodies with odd chord sequences. The Stones and the Animals stressed blues music or rootsy music. I think that's why they sound so different than the Animals or early Rolling Stones.

"Any Time at All" and "A Hard Days Night" are prototypical jangle power pop music that would influence the Who and others. "I Should Have Know Better" has that 12 string jangle with sort of folksy influence that would influence many acts like the ByrRAB. I think "A Hard Days Night" is much underrated in terms of Beatles albums.

No, this was way after The Kinks made See My Friend, which was clearly Indian.

Now that that's out of the way, I love The Beatles to bits, and I have never grown tired of them after years of listening. I'll admit, sometimes they will be a bit overrated, but it's my opinion that their music was highly influential and perfect in almost every way.

Rubber Soul is an amazing album... I wish I could have heard it before hearing all of the hits first. Revolver I started to really enjoy more recently... and Let it be naked is fun but still growing on me. I used to own "A Hard Days Night", I don't know what the hell happened to it... gotta pick that one up again.

Everything from Rubber Sould onwarRAB is incredible. Even their earlier albums are a cut above the rest in the teen bop rock genre of the early 60s.

If you really like the fans of the Beatles, you could buy a couple of them and give them as Christmas gifts to all too young to vote! And prepare for the resumption of Beatlemania, because we all know that adults have more cold N'Sync!
