My new 2005 C50 Boulevarde :) arrived from interstate this morning.I had to make a dash from work to my mums place (she's always home and it was supposed to arrive the next day)
Damn all i could do was sign the delivery papers, throw it in the garage, stare at it for 2 minutes, start it up for 10 seconds and race back to work(afternoon shift)Geez talk about a lounge suite on wheels(comparing to my old 99gsxr)Now i have to live through a nights work,a morning sleep and head for mums place and get it back to my place and drool again....get a roadworthy and inspection and rego change to Victoria and i'm on the road next tuesday cruising.Knowing my luck it will rain for 40 days and nights...(major drought here in OZ and hasn't rained for god knows how long).
Anyway enuff ranting and raving.....see ya's on the highways!....mario:bluethum:

Hey where abouts in Vic?

I am in Ferntree Gully. I have had an M50 for about 2 months, only done about 3000kms so far.

The dandenongs are a stones throw away, and reefton only just up the road.

There are a few Vics on the list, so lets get together for a fang!

Here you can compare.
2005 C50SE with tank bra, ISO Grips, K&N AirCleaner, Techclusion FI, Armed Guard Alarm,Mustang Seat.

I hope you enjoy your C50 as much as I enjoy mine.

Thanx all, roadworthy certificate done this morning.....i should have kept me mouth shut...it finally rained after weeks without.....got back home and had to clean the thing already!! Not used to all this chrome stuff.
Bike is so comfy to ride and it feels wierd to hear 2 cylinders instead of 4.Still getting used to taking off from the lights to change into second and search for the footpeg and gearlever (usually jammed under your left earlobe on a sportsbike) and find fresh air!!....put feet forward Mario,FORWARD you idiot!
Anyways tuesday for rego and off we go.....Cheers Mario

Thanx again everyone, yeah i am having fun, because the bike is very relaxing to ride.It is a strange feeling as on the GSXR750 you always feel on the edge, not sure why, maybe it's the posture or having something thats capable of doing low 10sec 1/4's and topping 270KPH,or losing your license in a split second....anyway finally got the bike from mums place to my place...guess what?It has rained all day! Wipe down the bike again!
Also realised how long the C50 is......make more room in the garage.
A friend came around to look at the bike (he owns a GSXR750 also)he had that look that says......maybe its time to convert to cruisers :-)
Cheers all........Mario

Peter it did rain sunday...haha...The bike is on a Vicroads permit so only able to ride to and from repairers.Booked in on Tuesday morning for registration, transfer, stamp duty and whatever other fees this damn money hungry goverment can think of......close to a grand i figure and i'm off to play :-)Short ride report....very comfy and relaxing......and WET.
Till tomorrow.....cheers all......Mario

I used to manufacture hand built sports cars (my own company) for about 8 years, and I used to do magic miles on those permits.
The most was 5700km before it was registered.

Used to go on club runs to nagambie, mildura, even adelaide.

Got pulled over every single trip, managed to talk my way out of all except about 3 tickets. But when the car is 710mm tall to the top of the windscreen, and an open wheeler, you get pulled over just because they want to find out what it is!.

The only thing they really get excited about is driving outside the hours part of the permit. A midnight run would probably get too much attention.

But if all the safety aspects are covered, they are real lenient.

The beast is finally registered ($842 bucks later)and rode to work and back (120km) return trip. The wind was a bit of a bother to work but a still, clear night on return(midnight)was a much better ride. The night was topped off by seeing the comet Mcnaught at work.As there was bugger all work (mechanic) in the workshop,i was given a VE commodore to run-in for the night (GM-holden proving ground)Just after 9.45pm driving on one of the tracks...there it was in front of my screen, the most beautiful view of a comet and its tail for about an hour. That made my night to see something a billion years old and around 40 million kms in length.......ahh heaven!
Cheers.....Mario :-)

You are making some of us very jelious...14 deg F tonight, and dropping to 7 deg. F, but I did get to at least start the bike. Probably won't be able to ride for 5 or 6 weeks!! :ocrap:

Sorry about that Dave....14 deg F - 7 deg F yep thats a cold one alright.
Just keep your bike idling and give it a nice warm cuddle......5 or 6 weeks....hmm
Cheers....Mario

Just checking in for the C50 report,Hi to all out there.
Clocked up 2000kms in the last 1 1/2 months and all is good,no strange sounds or problems.
Averaging 230kms before the fuel light comes on.Still very relaxing to ride.
Surprising how many rubber necks look at the bike parked or out on the road it almost makes my head out-grow the helmet!
I would recommend the C50 to anyone.Thats it for now,we've hit autumn (fall) and the days are cooling down and i'll make the most of what we have left,so stay safe out there keep on cruzin'
Cheers....Mario

Hi all,
Checking in again.I took the bike out for a nice day trip to Reefton and Marysville (I'm sure you've been there peter-reebok) over the easter weekend and man did i enjoy the C50!
I still had thoughts of my GSXR and if i would miss it.....nup....the C50 was brilliant and comfortable even with the EX on the back.
A friend had his GSXR and after 3hrs of riding he had just about had it.
He was sore, stiff and unable to keep on going,we decided to head back home and give it to him:mrgreen: He has finally given in and will start looking for a cruiser.
I'm still enjoying riding the C50 and recommend it to anyone.
Cheers.....Mario

Ive had my C50 for about 3 months now and am also lovin it mazz. I "traded up" from an older 650 Yammi maxim. It did take a bit of getting used to the v twin after having an inline four for all those years. The weather here in the Pacific NW has been off an on but I did manage a 5 hour ride this week end and was feelin pretty good after it was all done. I t kept my fat old arse comphy the whole trip.

I know exactly where you're coming from. My Bike before my M50 (purchased a few weeks ago), wasa honda CBR 600RR and I had tons of work done on it... You feel in danger at all times. Fun to ride, but after awhile it gets old, and u realize a couple of times you came close to biting it because of needing to speed to feel the ride. Then you want something with more comfort to cruise on without making yourself feel like your just begging to crash lol.
Congrats on the new machine. enjoy it. I know I am enjoying mine!
