This film was written by Auf Wiedersehen writers Clent and La Frenais...........

The main character is called Terry Leather (Jason Statham).


In the second series of Auf Wiedersehen Pet set in Spain the boys bumped into an ex-pat villain called TERRY LEATHER


A coincidence?
 
It may well be the idea where they got the character name from, but it can't be meant to be the same person because..

he gets a new identity at the end of the film. And he neeRAB to stick to it because he would have people after him!
