The Bank Job (2008)

Saw this last night, thought it was great although a bit slow in places. Think because the event actually happened and it was based on true events, it made the film seem better if you know what I mean?

Got a bit confused as to the involvement of Michael X and the Porn bloke?

The porn bloke was giving bribes to the police. He kept a ledger book detailing all his payments in the bank vault.

Michael X had a compromising photo of a royal and was using it to stop the authorities prosecuting him for his other offences. He kept the photo in the bank vault. The authorities therefore set-up the woman to encourage the robbers to raid the vault, so they could get the photo.

I really enjoyed this film.Great characters & a great script.I'm not that big a fan of Jason Statham but i thought he was good in it.

At the time i went to see the film i didn't know it was the writers of Porridge & Auf Wiedersehen Pet that wrote the script.

I saw it last Monday and enjoyed it.

I instantly recognised the name Terry Leather as it was used in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. That made sense to me when I saw who wrote the film on the end credits...Clement and La Frenais....

Just got back from seeing this movie and loved it!

Didn't think I would as it ain't my usual type of movie but it's well worth a look.

Glad I found this thread.

I saw this movie tonight and thought it was fantastic.

Jason Stratham is the British version of Bruce Willis IMHO.

I beg everybody to see this movie. I am not going to give anything away, but it was tense and gripping............and the acting was superb.

This is easily the best movie I have seen yet this year

It makes a pleasant change from the usual run of the mill American crap blockbusters being churned out at the moment.

is it just me or when statham is on the phone to the girl from casualty a phone numbers read out "01946", thats surly a major gaff on their part as the 01 part of the number wasnt introduced till the early 90's

It was alright but the start was very pedestrian, it picked up a bit but not a very memorable film.

SPOILER:

Personally I wouldn't go to kip in the middle of robbing a bank!
