"The Baby" - Disturbing Film?

Anyone remember a thread late last year about disturbing films/scenes? One of the films mentioned by several posters is being shown at 2:30am, Friday 29th August on BBC2.

I remember being creeped out by the sound of it so will be Sky+ing and working up the nerve to watch it.

I think I have seen this one. It has been shown occasionally late-night on BBC, about a woman who goes to care for a man treated as mentally disabled by his family to the point that they act as if he is a baby, putting him in a big play pen etc - but the carer thinks he is more intelligent than they let him be.

I read a review of this film some years back and it intrigued me enough to buy the US dvd of it.

Unfortunately its sitting unwatched on the shelf.

If only I had known....

It is a worthwhile piece, but I would urge potential viewers to bear in mind that it was made in 1973 on a low budget; it will be quite different to the slickness most audiences have become attuned to expect from films and requires you to be 'switched off' from Hollywood mode.

Watch it on your own in a darkened room with no distractions and let yourself be absorbed by it.

I remember the film THE BABY, The most disturbing part was when the baby sitter went to change his nappy and he wanted her to breast feed him and when she let him suckle her his Mum and sisters came in and in another shot one of the sisters got into his cot to let him do it again.

i have just watched this film, and omg i was not expecting that ending at all.
the film wasnt what i thought it was going to be, but still really good.
