The art of enjoying a film?

Does anybody else think that this seems to be getting lost? All I seem to see these days is technical talk, picture quality, sound quality etc

Which is all fine and dandy but it seems to have taken over, people talk about this stuff more than the films themselves, it just seems to me that people seem so hell bent on analyzing every little technical detail they forget to sit back, relax and enjoy the film they are watching.

I mean I know there are quite a few real young people on here but a good amount of us must have enjoyed watching movies on VHS right, stick the tape in, watch, discuss movie afterwarRAB, it seems so simple yet I rarely see that now. Don't get me wrong i'm all for a film being viewed in the best quality possible but christ don't let it affect your whole movie seeing experience.

Have to agree with UV.
This movie forum mainly caters for people wanting to critique movies, there are other boarRAB where it can get geeky in regarRAB to technical issues - if you want to talk about films and not merely the surface qualities then you're best bet is to avoid them and stick to this neck of the wooRAB.

I can see where you're coming from though. I never bought into the HD blue-ray thing, mainly 'cus I can't afford to but at the end of the day it's the content of film that matters more than anything else, just because a film is shot in HD, played on Blue-ray on a 50'' LCD doesn't make it a better film, a prettier one maybe but no a better one.
