The Amazing World Of Gumball – News & Discussion Thread

Thanks Huntsman! Hm. I guess that was just a weird analogy then, as Chowder also has shown TONS of wasted potential.

... I guess Chowder DID have some amazing episodes that lived up to its full potential (mainly in season one) but there were too many awful episodes to truly call the show great. Despite how much I wish it were. :(

Also. I know that this show is leaning to be more Americanized, but I'd be surprised to see it premiere here in the US first. (Then again, we did get TDWT before Canada, if I'm not mistaken). In other words, I'm completely fine if it first premieres in the UK.

Donald Glover just tweeted that the show looks fun, and he has over 200,000 followers. I've been promoting the show since 2009, yet in an instant, he's done more to promote the show than I have. Kind of funny, that. It's already been retweeted about a dozen times, so hopefully awareness about the series will spread.

But the sneak peek is also only 15 minutes long, not a full 30 minutes, the actual premiere will show both the sneak peek episode, and a new one. What are they going to air after the sneak peek on Tuesday?

Cartoon Network?s stated reason for not airing the intro is that it wasn?t well received during audience testing. I?m not sure if I buy that. Having seen it for myself, I don?t understand why there would have been any problems with it, and I don?t believe I?ve ever heard of an intro being pulled because of audience testing. However, as long as they don?t lay a finger on actual content, and leave the episodes alone, I believe everything should still be fine in the long run.

I've blogged about the series a second time, and have a new image of the series to show the world. Remember, you can click on any image to see a larger version of it. I still have high hopes for this series and I'm looking forward to its premiere later this year. I'm still trying to figure out who is going to voice the characters, but I'm confident that information will be released soon enough, perhaps at Cartoon Network's upfront in a couple of months.

One thing we do have to keep in mind is that Cartoon Network's website format forces them to boil a character's description down to a sentence or two, which never does a character justice. I'm sure the characters could be better described, and once the international site launches, it is my hope that those better descriptions will exist. They've created a decent amount of exclusive content specifically for online, to promote the series and get people familiar with the characters and their world. I'm looking forward to seeing that. It should be up in a matter of weeks.

Hmm, Looks like an interesting show, I don't really know what to think of it, Im sure it will be entertaining, but doesn't really look like somthing that will last too long, but im sure it will be decently enjoyable when it does air.:D

Awesome, I was kind of iffy about the show with the promotional pictures and all, but after seeing the video I warmed up to it. The voice-work was good and the character designs were cool. Looking forward to April!

Huh, that's weird. Considering they had already tested the show itself with audiences for a while now, you'd think they'd just be able to simply make a new one...

Formulas don't bother me as long as they're done well. Sometimes it's not what you have, but what you do with it that counts. I actually wouldn't mind if the Wattersons adhere to the typical family tropes as long as they're entertaining and endearing characters. I just hope that the mother's role as the breadwinner doesn't mean that she'll be excluded from the fun and craziness by being forced offscreen for most of the episodes.

There is a very brief synopsis for all of this month's episodes on MSN; I think I'm looking forward to "The Spoon" the most, although I think "The End" could be a lot of fun as well. :p

I assume you were trying to post that image where Anais and Nicole look dismayed in the background while Darwin, Gumball and Richard goof off, with the house a complete mess. I am somewhat concerned by that one as well, as I would like for the female characters to join in on the crazy antics and be just as “fun” as the male characters, but one image doesn’t dictate their personalities. As long as Anais and Nicole are entertaining characters in their own rights, the series will be fine, whether they participate in the craziness or not.

Does anybody know who Logan Grove is? Some casting website recently mentioned that he completed the first season of The Amazing World Of Gumball, but his resume seems to contain a bunch of live-action shows that I’ve never watched. However, Kwesi Boakye isn’t a traditional voice actor either, so it could be possible. The same casting page also mentions that he got cast for a role on Young Justice, so he seems to be branching out into voice acting. I find the use of non-traditional voice actors intriguing, although I’m not sure which character he voices. Perhaps Gumball? We’ll find out eventually.
