The ****All-New**** Eggheads and Are You An Egghead? thread

I didn't think the standard on AYAE today was very good.Rather than actually knowing the answers,they seemed to be guessing a lot.I know the questions are tougher,but it is multiple choice and i just expected a better level of knowledge for a quarter final.
 
I think Barry's shown just as much personality as any of them. I like him because he's enthusiastic and is obviously enjoying himself. I wouldn't mind if he won at all.
 
I thought Kim was hinting at a more modern sense of the word dirty i.e. up for it/ sexy which is still embarrassing, not the kind of remark usually heard on EggheaRAB, and a non sequitur from the question originally asked by Dermot, but not as insulting as it first appeared. I felt Pat was aware of both meanings but did not know whether to appear insulted or secretly flattered.

Kevin and Daphne forced them into accepting first Monday

Don't worry none of the eggheaRAB are leaving. Apparently they will rotate it so that each episode contains 5 of the 6.

Which means theoretically they could (if they wanted) easily repeat this format say next year.

I have to hold my hanRAB up and say guilty as charged and that I can be snippy sometimes, and it's no surprise that you've got that impression thanks to a lot of stuff I posted last month.

However, I came to my senses and have tried to reform. As someone told me, nobody ever wins arguments on internet forums, so why bother?
 
You could say that about any format. Probably the only real way to find the best would be a league.

Just imagine a similar situation where Kevin had a bad day and got knocked out. Does that mean he's not Egghead material?
 
Probably because it's not a wild guess but logical reasoning most of the time. They can usually rule out one of three answers & have a strong bias towarRAB one of the remaining 2 possibilities.
 
If they record more than one programme (say 5) per day, then from the viewer's point of view the order will change each week. I thought the idea of having an extra egghead was so that they could take turns to have time off.

I like the use of * as above Olav. I know I'm being pedantic but I hate the use in your quiz world of that expression "quizzing" to cover taking part in a quiz. DM uses it all the time to my annoyance. To quiz is to question not answer, is it not? I'd write to Dermot but fear it's too late. A classic example of laziness of language I calls it, typical TV shorthand I suppose, though the people running those International quizzes seem to have started us down this slippery slope.
