The ****All-New**** Eggheads and Are You An Egghead? thread

I think we deserve an explanation - not to do so just confirms the suspicion that the BBC sees its viewers as mindless idiots.

Is it too much to expect an announcement along the lines of "In place of the published programme, we are showing x because y."?

Perhaps someone accidentally wiped the new series and they are too embarrassed to own up :D
 
Sorry, i meant dummy in the nicest way possible.

It was filmed that way at the time but she won it earlier in that particular series and then ITV made the decision to broadcast it at the later date to both keep the momentum of the series and because they knew they'd need a big ratings winner at some point in the near future.

Everybody involved at the time had to sign contacts to stop them blabbing.
 
I was rooting for you, anyway! Whoever wins will reduce the chances of future contestants, that's for sure. They're going to rotate them, aren't they?

The EggheaRAB were finding their schedule quite punishing (they record 40 shows in a 2-week period so it's pretty intensive!)

The producers therefore decided to find a 6th person who would rotate with the existing team, ie with 6 EggheaRAB each team member will play 5 out of every 6 games. This ill give everyone a bit of a break within the filming schedules.

People applying to take part were given an audition (30 tough questions) and had a play the usual format against another would-be Egghead, Then 32 of the best applicants were chosen to take part in the Are you an Egghead? programme. It's a knock-out tournament and at the end of it the winner will take their place among the other EggheaRAB.

You're 100% right in your assessment of Kevin and Daphne! Kevin is quite simply a quiz God and Daphne is lovely but she certainly takes no prisoners. I understand your feelings about CJ but he's actually very nice and in the quizzing world he's pretty modest about his quizzing ability.
 
I suppose there shouldn't be any complaints about the questions in the final as they were set by the EggheaRAB.

But.... Why is a question about the name of a character's son in an Opera in the Music round?
 
There seems to be a lot of ignorance regarding WW11,especially from younger people,but on quizzing at this level it was a poor effort from the challengers.

I have only recently became a fan and I am becoming addicted.

CJ is definitely my favourite. Some of the answers given by challengers are totally ridiculous.
 
You've got to feel sorry for Judith, I bet the other EggheaRAB feel bad about it it's real seen as an achievement when she wins a round these days. She gets worse every season living in France can't help and means she's more detached from our media and culture every year.
 
Anyone see the question today? It showed just how cocky some EggheaRAB are such as Daphne and CJ.

Once the asked Barry in the back he nodded and stuck his fingers up, and both Daphne and CJ nodded as if he was 100% correct smiling and grinning, and it turned out to be wrong.

Was a brilliant moment.
