The Akatsuki or the Espada? (spoilers?)

I guess this could contain spoilers for any non-manga only-dub watching fans so...yeah.

Anyway, just a little comparison of which you liked overall more in the following areas:

1. Characters - Which team had the better and more interesting characters in your opinon?

2. Designs - Which team had the more unique and cool character designs?

akatsuki for a few reasons
1. better story
2. bigger exposition
3. believable deaths with the akatsuki

all around they seem to be the better characters. Granted they are not stronger than the espada or better looking *points to halibel* but for story yes akatsuki definitely wins

The Akatsuki definitly get my vote, there is just something about them that screams "cool!". I love their story, their don't give a crap attitude and their cool robes that they dress themselves in, the whole package is just awesome. Plus the Akatsuki are a part of one of my favorite manga's and anime's of all-time so that helps them to get my vote as well.

Akatsuki all the way baby!

NeeRAB more poll

I say Akatsuki, they've lived up to their hype, been around longer and have affected the story a lot more than the Espada have.

The Espada on the other hand was introduced at the start of the Arrancar arc and their primary focus was in the Hueco Mundo arcs. Once we moved away from HM, for the most part they went to the side burner.

Without a doubt Akatsuki, I just love their style, their look, and even their theme songs. The Akatsuki even got more epic deaths.

As far as being relevent, defentely the Akatsuki, I love the Espada (especially Hallibel ) but they weren't there at the beginning and the story will probably continue without them. The Akatsuki are more intesting and cool, but I always liked Bleach better than Naruto.

Well, they both suck in terms of character 'cause they fail to be very interesting or make the story better. But if I had to choose, I'd say Akatsuki has a slight edge. They have a bit more relevence aside from being fought and killed and the merabers are more interesting, specifically Sasori, Deidara, Kisame, Itachi, Zetsu and Tobi.

In Espada, I only found Barragan, Ulquiorra, Grimmjow, and Aaroniero to be remotely interesting. The group as a whole just isn't very appealing to me and again, they don't have much relevence to the plot.

Agreed on everything except that first part. They're pretty bland in comparrision to their initial hype.

Well, I can name maybe three of the Espada: Grimmjow, Ulquiorra, and Yammy. That's it.

Of the Akatsuki, on the other hand, I can name them all. As time past and the truth began to come to light it made their that they continually became less and less fearsome in comparison to their initial hype. Sasori was taken down by a raising star of Konoha and Suna's veteran puppetmaster for a fitting end. Hidan could not have gotten a better send off, and Kakuzu received a most ironic death, considering his attitude toward the young. Deidara was a windbag so I was glad to see him taken out, even if it was just barely. Pain was by far the most personal battle and his defeat was both bittersweet and a bullet dodged. The Akatsuki continue to have relevance, but to a different degree than they once had.

If you want to talk about memorable names, let me give a honorable mention to the Homunculi. They are as awesome as the Akatsuki and Espada.

I think the Homunculi are on their level, if you want revealance, except for a few OVAs (and they were in a few of them) they were in every version of FMA. They are always there. Than again so is Team Rocket. They are named after the seven deadly sins, so you won't forget their names.

Guess I'll give my own imput now.

The Akatsuki and Espada both servved the main purpose of giving the heroes someone to fight to develop their character.

In terms of actually interesting characters with depth, the Akatsuki only had Sasori IMO. Sure Hidan and Kakuzu were awesome but really, the Akatsuki a a whole were just t3h Evil Organization.

The Espada on the other hand had three characters with a lot of depth: Ulquiorra, Stark and Nnoitra. Grimmjow I don't like as much as those three but he had his own depth i guess.

What I like about those three I named is their "Aspects of Death". It's revealed each Espada had an aspect of death attached to them.

Ulquiorra - Nihilism. As an emotionless analyst, Ulquiorra was immensely intelligent and knowledgeable. However, through contact with ichigo and Orihime, his belief that life had no meaning was called into question. He came to question his ideas and he tried to discover and understand human emotion.

Nnoitra - Despair. He wanted only to be the strongest...but it could never be. He could not rise above his existence. What's more, he could not make Nel respect (or love if you believe that like I do) him. He was only searching for a place to die....

Stark - Loneliness. His immense power made him a threat to any potential friend he could ever have. Easily the least villainosu of the Espada (or Akatsuki for that matter) he just wanted peace and happiness.

Well, personally I think they're about even, in my eyes hype wise the Espada has lived up to theirs better.

When one guy can put fear into two high ranking merabers of the Akatsuki and then later take on all six paths of Pain all by himself (even though he dies) there has been a little overhyping, that old man was wicked.

Now the Espada on the other hand right from the get go it's shown that they are more powerful than the Captains even now while fighting in Karakura town most of the low nurabered Espada are being double or triple teamed by the Captains and Lts. throw in the VizarRAB and that shows that they're really nothing to mess with.

Now as for the leaders Madara vs Aizen it's really hard to gauge the edge between them, both have been LeLouching the story from the beginning but Aizen seems to have had a more intricate control over most of the events leading up to the current story.

Madara seems awesome but we still don't know what he's capable of no one has even touched him that in itself makes him badass, but I'm waiting to see when someone is is capable of hitting him what he can do.

Now as for Aizen....... yeah you've seen how thats been going.
