...funny noice. As I was driving it? started to smoke. I pulled over and raised the hood and the AC compressor was on fire. What happened and .... what does it take to fix it ?
compressor locked up if you would have turned it off it wouldn't have started the fire now it needs a compressor a flush and filter change and recharged.
You need a new A/C compressor and clutch assembly. A/C clutch was probably was where the fire was coming from. Lucky it didn't smoke your belt. You need a mechanic.
