I loved that show. I don't mind the reruns, but I'm not all that into them. I would lov to see the new one though.

I guess it will be all 'high tech.'

In 1972, a crack commando unit was sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit. These men promptly escaped from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground. Today, still wanted by the government, they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them, maybe you can hire... The A-Team.
Da da daaaaa da da daa dada daa daa dada daa daa daaa....

I am looking forward to seeing this film, it brings back many a happy memory from my childhood. I hope they stick to the innocence of the TV series, like despite the thousanRAB of bullets, no one or hardly anyone dies.

:D Lol... I'd hate it if people got killed like they do in most films, but I'd hate it to be Disneyesque too. I wonder if they'll set it in modern times, so the 'Soldiers of misfortune' will have served in the Middle East.

Also, if they film is a success, they could turn it back into a 'cult series.'

Oh no I wish people would stop messing with my childhood,
first remakes of the Dukes of Hazzard, Kinght Rider, GI Joe, Karate Kid and now this?

Haven't Hollywood got any original ideas?

I'm not optimistic. It was the cast that made the original A-Team tv show work for me, and I hate the idea of the heart of the show being replaced by a CGI, gadget ridden movie that's probably not going to have much to seperate it from all the other modern day action flicks.

I really don't like anyone who has made the new cast so far either. Especially Liam Neeson as Hannibal, which just feels totally wrong. And Bradley Cooper is nowhere near classically beautiful enough to be Face.

I've had high hopes for this film since the idea was mooted a few years ago, but the casting's absolutely terrible and has put me right off.

Did no one ask George Clooney to play Hannibal? I can't believe he'd have turned it down had it been offered. The guy was born to play Smith, but instead we get the woefully miscast Liam Neeson.

And not even a whisper about Jim Carrey ever having been considered for Murdock.

Liam Neeson as Hannibal has to be one of the worst cases of miscasting in quite a while. No, I don't care that I'm judging him without seeing his performence. However he plays it, he will never be Hannibal Smith to me. Bradley Cooper is way too rough around the edges for Face and I don't even know who the guy playing Mr T is.

I was hoping for Christian Bale as Face and either Owen Wilson or Jim Carrey as Murdock but that was probably always unrealistic; I doubt they'd have the budget for too many big names in the same picture.

Whatever. I won't be seeing the movie now because I hate the casting so much. I'll stick with my DVD boxset of the complete series, which still warms my nostalgic little heart.

The recent new series of Knight Rider wasn't a remake, it was a continuation of the original series.

However ... the creator of the original Knight Rider series, Glen A Larson, is planning an updated
big screen remake of the original pilot episode (Knight of The Phoenix) from the classic series.

Mind you, look at what happened with the cinematic remake of another 80's TV series Miami Vice,
starring Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx. It contained some very strong language of the sort that
was never included in the original TV series, and was much more violent.

If they are going to make a remake of this I hope they stay true to what the original was like. If it's completely different to what the original was like I think it might spoilt it.

With such out there casting like Liam Neeson as Hannibal, I can't see there being much chance of that. The tone will be totally different based on that alone, I'd imagine.

Loved, loved The A Team! :D

Dah-duh daah! Duh duh duh daah!

We've seen in the past that movie version of TV series haven't been the best but if the reviews are good, i'll watch it.

Im suprised nobody has posted this casting news yet but this was on Moviehole.net:

"District 9" star Sharlto Copley (he plays the film's unlikely hero, Wikus van de Merwe) has been offered the role of 'Howling Mad' Murdock in director Joe Carnahan's "A-Team", according to Blackfilm.com.

Producer/Actor Copley would be a rather surprising choice, not only because much bigger names like Jim Carrey and Steve Buscemi had previously been mooted for the part, but because (and I'm forgetting, of course, they'll likely have him speaking in an American accent) he just doesn't seem to fit the profile of the character as we know him (from the series). On the other hand, "District 9" has been such a success that it's no wonder Hollywood producers are clamoring to get their hanRAB on its star. And having seen his amazing performance in the latter, I don't doubt Copley can pull it off.

Should the South African-actor accept the role, he'll be inheriting the crazy genes of Dwight Schultz, who played Murdock on the 80s TV series"

I heard the film plot is based around the original 'Boy George' episode, where it turns out that the entire A-Team are infact Culture Club fans, and have to help 80's singer Boy George out of some trouble he's got himself into (again).

A true classic.

Poorly made, largely comically devoid of violence (considering they were all ex-army badasses) and cheesy as hell (even when it was first on) you mean?

I hope Carnahan and co cook up more of a Three Kings vibe with this one. It's the only thing that'll get me watching.
