The 40 Year-Old Virgin

Oh bugger I missed your post and said the same line. But yeah, thats well funny. The waxing bit is well funny too.

The bit he starts singing at the end in the bed had me in hysterics as well.

I loved this film. soo funny. Im not really into these sort of films and i would say that after watching this its strictly one for the laRAB. But the film is hilarious. The waxing part had me wincing. I could feel his pain! Ending was very sureal and had me in splits.

So its worth seeing then???

A friend of mine earlier on said it was absolute rubbish! I guess everyone has their own views on films eh! :D

So definitely worth going to see?

Yeah I would if I was you. I do think that people will either love or hate 40 year old virgin but it seems like the majority of people love it!
I thought it was the funniest films I have seen this year and I would recommend everybody see it to judge for themselves!

I've seen it and like some on here saw the reviews on IMDB and thought it should be good. It does have some very funny moments but occasionally it will fall flat for UK audiences unless one happens to very up on US culture.

In the cinema when I saw it I think it was just me the GF and friend who were laughing, all the teenagers in the audience seemed to be sat in stony silence muttering "this isn't funny"

I was telling our friend who's 21 that I recognized the music in part of the film, it was ASIA (anyone remember them?). Now the humour of the character being into ASIA was lost on him.

A very American film that relies on the audience sharing alot of the same history and cultural experiences. I'm English but I'm 40 and I've spent a fair amount of time in the States over the years so I laughed like a drain.

The grumpy Asian character who also worked in the electronics shop was very amusing and reminded me so much of my GF's uncle (he lives in SF and he's Indian).

Such as what? I can't think of any scenes that I didn't "get", but maybe I just thought I got them when in fact I didn't!

I did like the film. It was very much a "yes, darling, I'll take you to see it. Let's go on an Orange Wednesday so that I don't have to waste too much money on it!" decision, but now I'd have been happy to pay full price to watch it. Laugh out loud in most parts, cringeworthy in some others, surreal in others. Dawn of Aquarius indeed!

The waxing scene... OUCH!

And I did enjoy the guys overhearing about the 'special' party... "so what, we're Al-Queda now?" :D

The only part I can think of is him watching Everybody Loves Raymond as a porn film; that bit was lost on most of the audience.

I loved the ending song montage

I was hoping for the two "I know you're gay" guys to realise they were both gay and "become a couple", i was dissapointed (the film seemed to be heading that way....) :(

Saw it on the weekend and i thought it was so funny.
Steve Carrel is brillant....i loved the ending.

I just wanted Will Farrel,Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller to pop up!

I might be the only person here but i didnt think the film was as good as i had hoped it would be.

It was ok but not one of the funniest films i have seen.

But i can tell you the funniest film has got to be The Wedding Singer......i know its a bit old but its hilarious!!!!

The best thing about that waxing scene was that it was real. That was Steve Carrell's real chest hair and they used multiple cameras to film the scene. In fact, watching it a second time you can see that the other guys reactions are priceless.
