I'm hearing good things about this comedy, starring Steve Carrell and the rather lovely Catherine Keener - anyone else planning on seeing it?

yeah im hearing good things also! made from producer of anchorman and as well as steve carell it has the guy who played Brian Fantana. so yes i shall be watching apparently theres a scene where he has his chest waxed and its actually real, he insisted on it so it looked as real as possible lol

Yeah I have heard that too. I have wanted to see this film ever since I saw the trailer for it before The Wedding Crashers. It has been doing really well in america as it went straight to number 1 in the box office and also has been getting very good reviews. According to Rotten Tomatoes website it is the best reviewed film this year as it polled in with 88% positive reviews which is a few points above its three nearest competitors which were Cinderella Man at 84%, Batman Begins at 83% and Red Eye at 83%. Also it had a average review score of 7.4/10 which is also one of the year's best. So lets hope it is as good as the reviews say when it is relesed in the UK on the 2nd of September!

Mmmm, that's what worries me. I expected poor reviews for something that looks like such a s**t idea and film, and now i'm utterly confused.

The cast looks good, not the usual turRAB, but the long and short is that's it is just another of these sex-comedys that have been done a thousand times.

That's where I normally look (since Rotten Tomatoes went strange on me), and it crosses the entire range.

Trust me. This is a very funny film and will make Steve a big star (in his own right) internationally rather than just being big in the US.

SounRAB good! The only things I have seen Steve Carrell in before is Anchorman which he was very funny in and his brief cameo in Bewitched!

No it isnt but there are preview screenings over this bank holiday weekend but it doesnt open offically untill the 2nd of September!
