The 10 Song Shuffle

Of the 400+ artists I have in my library, its weird that a random selection of 25 or so will almost always have two of someone.

The Darkness - Love on the Rocks with No Ice
The Mars Volta - Meccamputechture

Some great hip hop here, I like Raekwon and El-P especially. Ludacris I can take or leave, quite fun at times I guess. Not familiar with too much of the other stuff, what seems like punk I'm guessing? I always thought Sum 41 were a bit teenage skater boy, maybe I'm wrong?

Damien Rice - The Blower's Daughter
Leonard Cohen - Sing Another Song, Boys
Madlib - Two Timer
Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer
Prefuse 73 - Gratis
Raul Midon - All In Your Mind
Urge Overkill - Girl, You'll Be A Woman Soon
Blockhead - Cherry Picker
Cradle Orchestra - Mountain Top (feat. Aloe Blacc)
Animal Collective - #1

Quite a variation there, I'm going to choose TBD as my favourite. A little bit cliche and something everyone has heard, but it's beautiful and reminRAB me of one of my favourite films Closer. So yeah, I choose that.

I guess I'll comment on this list, since it was the last post that actually obeyed the rules.

Springsteen's my man and you get major bonus points for having Flight of the ConchorRAB! :)

The White Stripes, "Passive Manipulation"
John Lennon, "Surprise Surprise (Sweet Bird of Paradox)"
Switchfoot, "Ode to Chin"
John Lennon, "Beautiful Boy (Darling Boy)"
Badly Drawn Boy, "Welcome to the Overground"
DJ Shadow, "Monosylabik"
Muse, "Screenager"
The Mars Volta, "Agadez"
John Lennon, "Woman"
Bruce Springsteen, "Glory Days"

I can't believe John Lennon came up three times! It's gotta be a sign, so I'm giving it to "Woman." That song is beautiful.

Daft Punk, Run DMC and Soulwax = cool. That Beatles one is probably my favorite George Harrison composition for the Beatles. The rest aren't really my thing I'm afraid.

Swans - Hypogirl
Nick Cave & the Bad SeeRAB - The Weeping Song
Vivian Girls - Double Vision

The Damned - Stab Your Back
Lime Spiders - My Favourite Room
Third World - 1865 (96 Degrees In the Shade)
Thelonius Monk - Bemsha Swing
Manu Dibango - Manga Bolo
The Infidels - Vivien Leigh

Pretty decent shuffle, actually. At first that Florence + the Machine song sounded kinda homo, but I warmed to it. Absolutely awesome Oasis song. Jet = The Strokes, but without the coolness.

I'll Fly Away - Gillian Welch
Army of Me - Grisbi
Die Da - Die Fantastichen Vier
Going Back to Cali - The Notorious B.I.G.
Don't Think Twice - Waylon Jennings
Tales of the Future - Demis Roussous
One Man Army - Prodigy featuring Tom Morello
Keep Away - GoRABmack
Wake-Up Borab - R.E.M.

Having just spent 3 hours replacing music on my Ipod touch and having to find around 60 album covers, i should really see what first 10 tracks come up in a shuffle, even though it probably won't be listened to for a couple of days:

Melt Banana - Lost Parts Stinging Me So Cool
Budgie - Guts

The Kinks - Denmark Steel
Radiohead - Gagging Order

This is great stuff. Heroin is one of the best VU tracks, I LOVE the McLaughlin's Mahavishnu Orchestra, a great Hendrix track (that reversed guitar solo always gets me), plus Skip James and Horace Silver. The rest I'm shady on. 9/10
