"That's so gay!"

Like I say, all the gay/bi people I know just don't say "that's gay." Cause to us (speaking solely for myself and the people I know with whom I've talked about it) "gay" means "homosexual" because we think about it in those terms more often. So when we say "that's gay" we mean, "that has tendencies of a homosexual" and nothing more. When other people say it, they presumably mean "that's stupid." Well, whatever, I mean, I can't stop you from saying it but I'm not entirely cool with it either, because that implies that gay means the same as stupid. Maybe I will start saying, "That's straight" to mean "that's stupid." And you can't get offended by me saying it because I can't get offended that you say "that's gay."

If I was gay, I would still call this thread gay.

Taken from an opinion of one of my gay friends: "Flamboyant gay people who make it gruelingly obvious that they are gay are the most annoying people in the world."

If you're gay, that's fine. Nobody fucking cares anymore. If you're gonna show the world on a giant projector how annoyingly gay you are, then you are stupid.

Therefore, gay=stupid. "That's so gay!" is a completely valid statement.

so when we say that something is dumb we're insulting mute people? right.

like when i say "that's dumb", i'm insinuating that mute people are somehow undesirable or stupid?

yes I know it's not a perfect comparison but it's close enough. I would say that anti homophobic backlash is making too big a deal out of these things.

the word gay has come to have many meanings, one is a synonym of "lame" and the other is used to describe homosexual people. or it can also mean "happy".

can we all get over it now?

That's the 2nd time I've had to bust out the politically incorrect comedians to prove a point. Is it over now?
 
It's almost, but not quite humorous how everyone (no one in particular, just people in general) will BITCH and MOAN and COMPLAIN how so-and-so is not being politically correct and the very air they breathe is being violated with such trash talk, compensate me for my pain and anguish...! But then you have the Freedom of Speech asshats teetering on that same fence...:rolleyes:

I don't think I have ever attempted to insult someone based on their sexual orientation. However I have said things including "That's so gay." to generally show a state of discontent.

What this proves, I don't know.
 
alot of people say "thats so gay" because idk its prolly really gay like the same sex making out, people say its not right well... yea its not right, better yet its fucking gross
