That new "Carry on...." film????

CO Columbus is by no means the worst CO film (Emmannuelle or England would probably take that title), but the COs really ought to be left where they are. The storyline for CO London sounRAB dreadful.

A new CO could be very successful, but won't be. A CO in a hospital, with carefully picked cast, would be fun, but that seems not to be the approach that is taken.

I am going to the CO films 50th bday party on Sunday, at Pinewood studios. I expect there to be mixed reactions from fans about the announcement of a new film, but it's been hovering around promising to be made for many years, so I'm not holding my breath.

find studio = blow up studio
find script = burn script
find writer = shoot writer... also producer and director

and their relatives and their pets and their relatives pets etc...

Hey, and I'm not even a massive fan of the "Carry On" films

Enough of the pointless re-makes/re-imaginings already!!!

The Carry-ons really are a by-gone era and should be left that way.

I'm sure it would be possible to re-invent them, some how. But it would take an amount of creativity and imagination not usually associated with the mainstream film industry.

Ah... I've got it. They should use the same get out as Ashes to Ashes - Carry on Seventies Kitsch - set it back in the 70s and use all the old gags. Claim it's post-modern and nostalgic - might just work.

Just when the coast seems clear, and talk of a new Carry On movie seems to abait, out comes new publicity about a new one being greenlighted...the studio seems determined to keep it up!

:p

They were talking about it on Radio 4 this morning. Seems as if it is finished and ready to be screened.

I just can't see it being a success though. All those coy double-entendres seem so dated now and without them it just wouldn't be a Carry On Film.

Interesting that, at the C.O films 50th bday party, at the weekend, not one single person mentioned the new film. EXCEPT for a journalist who asked Leslie Phillips if the producers are phoning him about a role in the new film. the great man replied "Phoning me? They're knocking my bloody door down!".
