that film the Clockwise is a classic...

I'm sure it was funny once upon a time but I've seen it too many times - it's just something harmless to have on in the background to me now.
 
It is certainly bizarre - if a headteacher absconded with a pupil nowadays I'm sure he'd be sent down for life, if the neighbours didn't get hold of him first and cut his balls off.

A few well-known faces appear, even if only briefly.

At the station, Brian Stimpson (John Cleese) turns around to see two pupils bunking-off next to a photo booth. They are Mandy Kostakis (Nadia Sawalha, City Hospital) and Glen Scully (Mark Burdis, Mark Kemp in Operation Good Guys).

A couple of scenes later, Stimpson is sent to the wrong train after a muddled conversation with a ticket collector (John Bardon, Jim Branning in EastEnders).

Just remember what happens if you don't get along with Stimpson...

Brilliant film, got it on DVD. Unusual because at the time most UK films still came out of Pinewood. This film was entirely in the regions, starting in Hull with the school and train station, then it literally went from there to Norwich as it was filmed - the next stop was at Grimsby Hospital where his wife picked up the old ladies, and petrol station drive off was there too. Then it went to Bourne and Cromer, before ending up in Norwich for the conference.

So it was literally filmed on location! (Factiod about the DVD - the start of the film still has the Thorn EMI logo that flashes up, the same logo that was plastered on most TV's and the first mass produced videos in the UK at the time).
