Thanksgiving is often overlooked.

ALL THANKSGIVING HAS IS THIS:

As others have noted, reasons for few Thanksgiving specials include:

- Lack of international appeal. Thanksgiving is pretty much just celebrated in the United States and Canada (the latter in mid-October).

- Less of a variety of plots/traditional stories/songs/etc. to draw from for Thanksgiving, vs. Halloween or Christmas.

- How excessively commercialized Christmas is----the drugstores here in town had their Christmas stuff up in *October*. With how much money corporations make off of Christmas, it's probably not surprising they'd want to emphasize that over a holiday that's mostly only a big money-maker to grocery stores (Thanksgiving), and make a zillion holiday specials centering around it.

Yeah, I think Thanksgiving deserves more attention too... the Peanuts Thanksgiving special shows it's possible to make Turkey Day amusing.

Shows how secular holidays can be. And football and Thanksgiving don't go together.

But there HAVE been a few Thanksgiving toons I do remember like the early 70's B.C.: The First Thanksgiving toon. and there was that one Underdog story, Simon Says, No Thanksgiving.

"And give bless to the tofu"

Yeah it's not celebrated as much on TV, because it's not as iconic. I mean almost everybody knows what Christmas and Halloween are. Thanksgiving... not so much.

I think some of you are missing the point of a good Thanksgiving story. It's a holiday where you're forced to get together with the family. What if your family is a dysfunctional mess? Well...that's a topic for a good special.

And stuffing, and mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce, and squash, and corn, and green beans, and dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie. Really, much better than Halloween, when all you get to eat is candy. Well, as a kid I only got to eat candy, anyway. I suppose as an adult it depends on what you do for Halloween. You could go to a party with a lot of food.
