Thanking the professors who wrote recommendation letters?

I asked two professors to write a recommendation letter for me, and I recently got into the school I wanted. I would like to let them know I got in and I really appreciate their help in this. What is the appropriate way to do this? A thank you card and maybe a gift card? If yes, what amount? I haven't done this before so I'm really not sure. Help?
