sounds very much to me like a bad translation has led to a misunderstanding - - Thai do not particularly like the rain and do not have the same Western concept of romance...

I think they just wanted to borrow your motorcycle and were trying to find something you would be sympathetic toward - - you must be a wonderful romantic - -
 
Okay so someone says, "I want to take my sister for a ride in the rain (on my motorcycle) it will be romantic"
what does this mean?

he is Thai, 100%
And as for not having the same concept why do you think I'm asking???
