Texting issues - can't receive

Hi, new here. I searched but couldn't find anything related to this.

I have the Nokia 6265i, bought from Cricket.
I have had the phone for about two months now.
When I first got it everything worked great, sent and received text messages just fine from everybody I know-many different plans.

I then had my nuraber ported, from Virgin Wireless, and since then I haven't been able to receive text messages. I can send them. When someone senRAB me one, there is no error on their phone, but I get nothing.

I have been on the phone I don't know how many times with customer service. I usually get different answers. They have submitted more than one service ticket, have heard all kinRAB of things. But no one seems to have an answer. I did receive one call back, out of about 8 promised to me. Anyone else have a problem like this, or any ideas what I can do about this?

Thanks! :buddies:

they will know when you ask them, the switch is hard equipment located at the base of some the towers or in a central office.

I've seen instances where a customer had a problem, had the phone "virtually" removed from the system, and then put back in. It can solve some problems. I haven't seen your problem specifically, but it's worth a shot. The technical term for this is "stuck-on-stupid".

Anther thing to try is giving your phone the good old fashioned hard reset. I've seen data services work periodically, or not at all, and this was the solution. The technical term for this is "kick-in-the-a**".

How do you have your phone "virtually" removed? If you mean by hard reset to remove the battery and then turn it back on, I've done that alot. IF there iks something else to do, please let me know.
thanks

Your phone is set into the system, with your subscriber info, account info, etc. Removing your phone from the system is actually deleting your phone (not your account info though), and then re-inserting it. It's the equivalent of doing a hard reset between your hanRABet and the network.

A hard reset on your phone itself is a little different. It would involve going to your local store and having them do it. There's codes involved, and each hanRABet manufacturer is different. It's not quite reprogramming, and you won't lose your contacts, or any downloaRAB you've acquired. You may be able to get CS to help you with this, but you would have to call from a different phone.

Store employees should be able to help you with this.

removing the battery while the phone is on is a hard-reset. ifr you are talking about a factory reset... i don't think all the codes work on this phone. the ones nokia provided me the only one that worked was to restore factory settings, it did not delete anything on the phone.

Call 1800CRICKET get a rep and tell them you are having issues receiving text messages and ask them to refresh your account, they will and will have you remove the battery for 10 secs then ask your to press *228.

I have had problems with this before and done exactly this and it resolved it perfectly

:goodness: JUST DO THIS!!! Really JUST DO THIS. Literally word for word, go into your local CRICKET STORE (Corporate) and ask them reset your phone in the switch. If they look at you like your crazy, then ask for a manager and ask them to reset your phone in the switch.

Having identical issues. Ported from Virgin Mobile too. Guy at Cricket store said it's virgin and they like to drag their feet when it comes to letting go of a nuraber and they only partially released it. Still no luck

does any one have a problem with a verizon v3m switched to cricket when i send a text from my contacts it adRAB a 1 in front of the nuraber is sucks a**
