Text While Roaming Policies

I am wanting to switch from Straighttalk to Cricket and get the new Sanyo Zio, my only problem is that the city where I work is in a Cricket roaming area, but if I can text without worry and get a basic roaming package I will be all set.

My question, to which I can not seem to find a straight answer, is: Does Cricket charge extra, or eat into your roaming minutes, if you send and receive text messages while roaming?

Any insight anyone can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I've sent and received dozens if not hundreRAB of texts while roaming on verizon. Never paid more than the 5 dollars a month.

Did it take up your minutes too? When I did it, it would always say I only had one roaming minute. It's like it used up all but one when I was texting. It was weird. I could send 100's of texts, but it would use up all but one minute.
