text messaging (network not available)

I keep getting this out of network when i try to text. I just added text messaging to my plan 30min ago and it will not let me send anything. Can i have something set on my phone to not let me send messages. I also cant get on the internet (not that i use it i was just testing my phone). Is this something i need to call nextel about or just something small.

I did a search but didnt come up with much.
 
no nextel is very slow when it comes to the internet and ip. Look for a few hours to a few days. If you power cycle the phone the internet ip should generate and then you will be able to use the text messaging. The internet will come in time.
 
My IP address was deleted or removed so i had no access to any web/text features. Took me over a hour with nextel to figure it out. It works now but is very very slow.
I had sprint before and it was almost instant with it. 30min to a hour for messages to finally get to my phone.
