Text Messages Take Forever

Whenever I text any of my friends off nextels network they recieve it almost immediatly but when they text me back it takes forever. sometimes hours before i recieve what they sent

I have had mine changed to send all and the messaging still takes forever. Over one hour most of the day. Sometimes takes days.

That is funny I have had Nexel since 1997 and never had a problem with my voicemail or text messages.

This week Txt messages have ranged from instant to 8 hrs

I have had my text messaging for about 2 weeks. Never recieved one instantly yet. Takes 3-12 hours.

I contacted Nextel about this and they advised that when folks off network, such as someone with a Verizon phone text messages you, they must send the text to more than just your phone number..specifically as this format provides: (XXX) [email protected]. When they send it this way, you'll find you get it almost immediately, which is the way it should work.

Texting should be instantaneous. A glitch is probably creating the issue. If sending a text message via [email protected] works instantaneously, have those texting you send a sms message to your email address in that format ([email protected] w/o the dashes in between you phone #) via their phone and you shouldn't have a problem.
